Fangraphs says that right now Turner profiles as a middle reliever:

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/instagraphs/a-reason-for-pessimism-about-jacob-turner/

Dave Cameron is the worst at everything.

"Herp, derp, since 2011 for a 23-year-old pitcher."

Since the start of the 2011 season, 149 pitchers have thrown at least 100 innings against left-handed batters. By K%-BB%, Turner ranks 147th.

IT'S ALMOST AS IF THE IDEA WERE TO GET HIM WITH A PITCHING COACH WHO SPECIALIZES IN HELPING PITCHERS WITH OFF-HAND HITTERS AND HAPPENS TO CHAMPION THE REPERTOIRE THAT TURNER ALREADY POSSESSES

Bremer is one. I'd be ok with it, but I hope the other one isn't Arias. I like that guy.

I probably like Jose Arias more than anyone on this board but I'd trade him in a heartbeat for Turner.

So does Turner start off in the pen or do we find a way to work him into the rotation?

My gut says the pen, unless the Cubs decide they've finally had enough of Jaxon. I'm fine either way.

It's an amazing deal, it just would have been more amazing without Arias.

Sorry, not quite done with this yet.

DID YOU KNOW: Who else has a horrible K%-BB% against LHP from 2011-2013? JASON HAMMEL. Arrieta was a good bit below average too, to say nothing of the players who managed to overcome that deathstroke and be good during that time frame(I'm looking at you, Lynn, Masterson, and Eovaldi).

Had to go all the way back to 2011 to get to the conclusion you wanted to reach?

Needs more $/WAR massaging.

Splits require big samples, so the best thing to do when looking at data vs handedness is grab as much as you can. But, hey, since you want smaller sample split data, Turner’s 2014 K%-BB% against LHBs? -2.0%. This list actually makes him look better than if I had just used 2014 data.

But, hey, feel free to live your life trying to be snarky and clever. Good luck with that.

Ha. Shows how much he knows. You HAVE had good luck by being snarky and clever!

Irritated TT is so excellent.

They'll put him in the pen until the off-season. Let him use his 2 best pitches. Then he will just be a middle-top end starter for the next decade. Bosio should be riding a horse from the dugout to the mound wearing full general regalia.
