I'm pretty sure no one on Earth bought a Sega Saturn. Dreamcast, however, was the bomb, yo.

never cared about getting a dreamcast until my friend figured out how to download games and play whatever he wanted on the system.

A friend of mine had a Saturn and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Holy [expletive] was Shinobi Legions cool.

Skies of Arcadia is the game from Dreamcast that I keep hoping they'll reboot for current gen

I paid more money for a copy of this than the Gamecube to play it on.

It was the first RPG I had played where your party got split up mid-story and had you bounce back and forth between them.

FFVI?

Anyway, I started out with an NES, then a Sega Genesis (and was ever so briefly a Sega fanboy), then got a SNES a couple years later. I loved them equally, pretty much.

My first system was N64 though I played a lot on NES at friends' houses.

Atari -> NES -> Sega Genesis -> N64 -> Gamecube -> PS2-> X Box 360

NES still the favorite and I miss it. :(

Extra points for anyone who had a TurboGrafx 16. Had a friend that had it.

I had one. I bought it used when it was on its way out, but I had one.

Sega CD and 32X, too. You could pick up those systems with limited libraries for dirt cheap used.

Seems like a fourth of the kids I grew up with were Sega kids. Wonder if this scientific poll will reflect that. I was Nintendo personally. IMB! for some reason I see you as a Sega kid.

I actually never have owned a sega anything, that i can think of

Always fun to look back at our childhood video games and how superior they were to today's. Then actually play those old school games for the first time in 20 some years and realize how primitive they were. Never played the newer Zelda games, but I'm confident that Link doesn't suddenly slow to the speed of molasses because there are too many [expletive] tektites on the screen.

We had pong second hand forever. Then we got Colecovision. Only the rich kids got Atari.

I came from a family with 9 kids. We had an Atari. We most certainly weren't rich.
