These farewell tours are just weird, mainly because so far they've happened for varying degrees of really, really good players when it seems like the kind of thing you'd pull out for some kind of legendary, amazing, "holy [expletive], I can't believe I got to see HIM play"-type of player, which is to say it's the kind of thing that should happen for like 1 guy every 20-30 years.

 

There is just no way this happens with Jeter if he played for any other team in his career.

I wish I had your optimism. 28 years of this [expletive] and counting. Glad I didn't start until I was 7, I'd probably be in a hospital by now.

Game day has it as an error on Castro

They changed it.

4: v CIN, 7 IP 1 ER, leaves down 3-1, Cubs lose 4-1

5: v ARI, 7.1 IP 2 ER, leaves up 5-2, Cubs give up 5 in the 9th and lose 7-5

6: @ CIN, 5.2 3 ER, leaves down 3-2, Cubs lose 3-2

7: v CWS, 9 IP 0 ER, leaves tied 1-1, Cubs lose 2-1 in 12

8: @ ATL, 6 IP 0 ER, leaves tied 0-0, Cubs lose 2-0

9: v MIL, 5 IP 2 ER, leaves down 4-3, Cubs lose 4-3

10: v NYY, 7 IP 0 ER, leaves up 2-0, Cubs tied 2-2

 

In 6 of his 10 starts he's left the game tied or in the lead. The Cubs have gone 1-5 in those games, with the 1 win coming after they blew a multiple run lead in the 9th.

 

In Sharks 10 starts, he has pitched all but 24 innings in those games. In those 24 innings he has NOT pitched, the Cubs offense has scored 3 runs, all in 1 inning.
