I almost hate to jinx it, but what's the MLB record for most consecutive innings held scoreless? If the Cubs manage to get shut out again today you'd have to think they were getting in the neighborhood.

They seriously called for Rizzo to take all the way on 3-1? And it ended up being a meatball.

he swung at a bad ball on 2-0, i almost wonder if it was a punitive thing

52, by the 1903 Pirates. It's a long season, if we don't get it on this stretch we'll have more chances.

'85 Astros went 42 for a more-recent mark. That's one to shoot for.

Saw on twitter the 92 Cubs were the last team to go 4 straight games without scoring.

But I can't blame the front office, because you *have* to see what Lake can do, and Schierholtz was a bargain, and really you know you'll get good $/WAR out of Sweeney.

I'm more resentful of the huge acquisitions of the amazing platoon players of ruggiano and kalish.

I will always wonder if maybe they knew the team sucked and was hopeless and wanted to give a job to one of their failed prospects just because they liked him.

The 2012 Marlins went 30 innings in a row without scoring.
