Derrick Walton in crutches

a starting backcourt of Spike Albrecht and Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman isn't quite what i had envisioned for our game in the land of burning coaches

Ole Miss' 5'9 PG, Stefan Moody. I'm amazed some short dudes can jump so high.

I'd love to see Izzo and D'Antonio go up in flames. I assume you mean couches though.

Michigan looked like a team of walk ons out there and still took MSU to OT.

They pretty much are haha. I like being the plucky little team that could, but eventually I'd like to win some of these games. Or at least score in OT :)

how does Branden Dawson not develop in any way over 4 years? with a semi-respectable jumper he's like a top-10 pick, right?

feeling like recruiting services should just start adding a star to whoever Beilein offers

edit: wtf is this

He looks like he's blocking his own shot.

I didn't think there was any way he'd not be B1G POTY by now.

Anyone else remember when people thought Trice was a throw in from Izzo in order to get Dawson? Well, maybe he was but he's outscoring Dawson this year. Pretty crazy considering a lot of people didn't think Trice was a B1G caliber player.

I just finished the game. I know the exact double travel play you're talking about. Hard to believe there were no calls there.

Dejean Jones was pretty invisible.

I'll be glad to see Niang gone, whenever that happens.

Eliminating the transition was big. KU definitely dominated the game in the half court. Really had their way with ISU tonight.

Maybe ISU should press us all game long. WVU is gonna be a scary game for KU.

I wish dejean jones would be invisible. that's better than him trying to get drafted every time he touches the ball.

I knew they wouldn't get lay ups again. they can still win without getting scads of uncontested dunks but not when they play like that (and KU shoots the 3 like that). was worried iowa st would start poorly due to jitters or something, but they somehow managed to go into "early game pants [expletive]" mode 10 minutes in. weird.

least invincible feeling KU team in a while but you ain't beating them at phog playing like that. ugh.

agree that wvu will pose some problems for KU, but it doesn't matter in the long run. even if wvu gets KU in morgantown, wvu will have a couple slip ups....i mean they all but lost to tcu at home.

I do wish iowa st would speed people up more, but their bench outside if mckay is worthless and the starters would die pressing the whole game.

The thing that KU does that no one else in the conference can seem to figure out is win consistently on the road.

A couple of other teams (ISU, OSU, KSU) defend their home court very well. But they scuffle so much on the road. It's very surprising for me in ISU's case because Hoiberg is such a good coach. (Part of it is talent, obviously. KU gets better talent than anyone, though Baylor and Texas occasionally get more. They just have horrible coaches.)

The next couple of games will be critical for KU. We will lose a couple on the road this year, no question. I've more or less penciled in @WVU as a loss. We need to win @OKST and @Ttech. Those are winnable road games, but we've really struggled to win at those places over the last few years.

Well that was fun. Huge game at home vs. Maryland on Sunday. Much easier final 8 games.

that's an understatement. I did a double take when I saw that schedule. wow.

Any of the Indiana guys on here seen Coleman-Landis play? Is he gonna play right away and be able to score for us? If not Groce is gone after next year, IMO.

Sorry I'm late to this.

I have not seen Coleman since he left Indianapolis Cathedral for La Lumiere. So I'm projecting a bit more than I'd like, but I would suspect he'll be able to play right away. He's a good athlete, long-armed, and has very good all-around skills. He took a lot of mid-range shots when I've seen him (not really meant as a complaint, he's a very good shooter--he just didn't really get to the rim often). I wouldn't expect him to be a star immediately but I'd be pretty surprised if he's not ready for significant minutes. Not necessarily as a direct player-to-player comparison, but, using IU freshman, I'd expect him to be more akin to what Robert Johnson has given IU this year, as opposed to James Blackmon, Jr. (and I do not mean that as an insult, Johnson has been quite good).

Thanks for the response. Blackmon is the name I've often seen him compared to, so it's interesting you don't see him as the same type player. All in all he's closer to what I expected, solid but not a star immediately.

I guess the good thing is that Groce keeps stacking those type of players and eventually when he has some of his own upperclassmen we should be improved, that is if he can ever add a legit point guard.

Looks like the same schedule that got UM off to a 6-3 start in the conference.

He's probably more similar to Blackmon than Johnson; I just meant I would expect his impact maybe to be more like Johnson's.

You win a lot of games by recruiting players of Coleman's caliber.
