Mizzou are gutless choking dogs. Only damn game I cared about this year.

Choke? Meh, Arkansas was the better team. Mizzou was lucky to be in the game. They were on the verge of being blown out like 5 times.

agreed. pretty embarrassing you beat the worst team in the conference by 1 point.

They missed 2 free throws down 1 with 3 seconds left. Yeah, that's a choke.

As a UNC fan I am really impressed with what they have done so far this season. They have had several significant injuries and played a brutal schedule (4th in the country; 22nd toughest non-conference, good for 3rd toughest amongst major conference teams (Kansas and VCU are nos. 1 and 2; Duke is in the 150's)). Pomeroy has them as the 10th best team in the country.

I'm really glad ND got them when they did on the schedule. Would want no part of them right now.

I'm going to Northwestern for the first time on Saturday. Constable (or anyone else) can you tell me a good place to get a drink before the game? Does parking suck?

Welsh-Ryan is in the middle of a neighborhood, so there aren't really a lot of fun drinking options within walking distance. With that said, you have a few choices:

If parking or taking Metra to Central:

+ Bluestone

+ Ten Mile House (haven't been -- just opened but supposedly good)

Parking isn't that bad for non-football events. It's inexpensive to pay at the stadium and you can usually find a way to park for free in the neighborhood (Evanston side, south of central). If you get there late you may have to park west of Green Bay. There are long-term parking meters near the Central Metra station and if you get lucky you can use them.

I'd honestly recommend taking the L if you can, stopping at Davis, having a few beers, and then heading to Central on the L (or even Ubering if you are so inclined).

By approx. distance from L/Metra at Davis:

+ World of Beer

+ Bat 17

+ Bar Louie

+ Bangers and Lace

+ JT's

+ Prairie Moon

+ Nevin's

I'll be driving down from MKE so the L wouldn't be an option. I'll probably find parking and try out Ten Mile House or Bluestone so I can have a couple and not have to worry about finding parking right before the game. Is Bluestone more restaurant than bar? Thanks for the info!

Ah, gotcha.

Bluestone is a casual bar and grill with a bit of a sports flair given where it is. There is a separate bar area, too. Food is about what you'd expect from a bar and grill: not something you'd seek out but solid nonetheless.

texas scored 38 pts in last 8 minutes. was 0-7 in first half on 3s, 10-15 in second half. that was scary.

Covered the spread, too, with the tip in at .6 seconds left

Purdue opens as a 3 point favorite over IU tomorrow.

down 3 starters tonight and Beilein still performed some weird voodoo to win handily against a competent conference opponent

Not sure how much Michigan's defense had to do with it, but Nebraska's 2 best players couldn't hit the broad side of a barn tonight. They both played much, much better the other times I've watched them.

If you ever go to Nevin's, look for the plaque that says "Snoodmonger used to be a 'bouncer' here."

Haha that place was always extremely strict on IDs. You have a discerning eye.
