Well, if Purdue hadn't lost to North Florida and Gardner-Webb they would be 12-3 and 2-0 in the B1G and looking great for a tourney bid. Now we just need to pull off a miracle in Madison on Wednesday night to get back on track.

LSU has had a solid recruiting class this will be their best group since the Shaq, Stanley Roberts, and Chris Jackson.

Bragg will decide later this week and it's between UK, Kansas, and Illinois. Im guessing Kansas.

So it's between KU and UK? He never took an official to champaign.

Ole Miss leading Kentucky at the half at the Rupp. I don't expect to win this game since the Rebels aren't very good, and they only got to shoot ONE free throw so far, so we gotta play the refs too, but this shows me that I don't think Kentucky goes undefeated this year. They are definitely beatable.

So you get the ball in a tie game with 25 seconds left and you settle for an NBA three? Got to do better than that, Ole Miss.

Ole Miss played well. UK is the best team in the nation but they can be beat, hopefully they learned they can't walk in there and expect teams to roll over. They're not as good as the 96 team.

WOW, did some things really go in Kentucky's favor that game.

Leading free throw shooter IN THE COUNTRY gets fouled on a three and seizes up with cramps and can't make his free throws, but is replaced by the worst shooter on the team who proceeds to miss 2 of 3.

A three pointer taken away like 6 minutes after it was shot. Obviously it's legal to do, but I've never seen the refs review a play THAT LONG after it happened. His toe was certainly on the line, so it was the right call, but damnit if that's not a brutal way to lose a game. If that play isn't reviewed Ole Miss wins in regulation.

THEN, and this one drives me insane the most, your senior captain, in a tie game with the clock running out, attempts a stupid NBA three instead of charging and getting a foul.

Good lord Rebels.

Texas picked the perfect night to have a 14 point half.

Now I'm wondering if OU is the best team in the conference.

It'll be you by the end of the year.

Purdue loses by 7 with a 31-7 free throw disparity. Embarrassing officiating.

I loved when kamisky acted like he was shot by a gun and then awarded two free throws and the ball.

Depaul is winning again, this time at Creighton. I swear in the couple games I've watched, their opponents make a ton of bad unforced errors when DePaul is winning in the second half. Simply put they look like they are panicking. I am going to call this the "Losing to DePaul" effect, where teams start freaking out that they are actually losing to DePaul, thus play even worse.

Sure doesn't seem like it watching this game.

I'm amazed how quickly you get the benefit of the doubt of a fifty fifty call while on the road.

KU might win only 14 league games this year.

You talking about the end of game out of bounds thing? I couldn't tell who it was out on, but the ref was right there.

Yes, and it could have been the right call. I'm just thinking in the big ten the home team is getting that call no matter what. Our conference sucks.

The way the KU players reacted in the moment combined with how little griping BU did over the call makes me think it was right call. But yeah, that kind of call can easily go for the home team. I bet KU gets that call at Allen.

I slept through most of that, how'd we manage that?

Far less Rice hero-ball down the stretch.

Yep. They ran much better offense tonight outside of about a five minute stretch in the second half where Starks decided to start chucking. I can't say I'm surprised by it a lot in the first game after they lost Rice, but we'll see what kind of adjustments get made to take away Hill and how they react to that before I get too excited about it.

Much better energy defensively last night as well.

I'm definitely more of a Michigan fan, but DePaul is a clear 2nd favorite team...great to see some sort of progress, although only 1 of the 3 teams they beat (Xavier) is any good.

Guessing the honeymoon is over quickly though....next 8 games are @ Nova, vs. Georgetown, vs. St. Johns, @ Seton Hall, @ Xavier, @ Providence, vs. Villanova and vs. Seton Hall. 5 against ranked teams, 2 additional road games against good teams, and a home game against almost ranked Georgetown. If they win 2 of those games I'd probably be thrilled.
