I definitely shouldn't complain because the last 2 years have ended in the championship game and elite 8, and also because its Jim Harbaugh day, but did Michigan have to immediately go from contender to bottom 4 in the Big Ten? OK maybe that's extreme because I believe in Beilein's ability to make this team better as the year goes on, but it's not like there is a lot of talent coming in next year...there's absolutely no talent coming in unless Jaylen Brown somehow comes to Ann Arbor. What you see on the court right now is what UM will have next year most likely.

I know I know, I am "politely overreacting" right now. I'm more frustrated in general at the direction of the program not being able to keep the momentum from the last 3 years going on the recruiting trail. But we have the right coach to maximize lesser talented players so I guess its not the end of the world.

Illinois needs to get better at not abandoning their game plan when they're playing a team that can stay close to them in the second half. Third game already this year where they had a good second half lead and basically gave it away by not playing tight defense and dribbling around the perimeter for too long.

It's year three and Groce still hasn't recruited a big ten caliber point or center and his offense is a train wreck. It's been damn near a decade since we were really good. Thomas can't make good coaches want our jobs.
