Agree. It would be tremendous if you could bank on Taj scoring 15-20 points/game. I've never been one to complain about Boozer's defense, but the things you can do on the defensive side with Taj and Noah together for 35+ minutes a game are exciting. Barring a Melo trade, bringing over Mirotic and using the remaining cap space/exceptions, on a 2/3 wouldn't be a bad offseason.

 

That said, I don't think Boozer gets amnestied. The Bulls will probably hang on to him to use as a trade chip. He'll be a true expiring and have positive value in a year.

I thought Portland Amnestied him, Minnesota signed him and then he retired while under his Minnesota contract.

We had an argument in one of these threads a while bak where people were saying taj was better than boozer and while that wasn't true two years ago, I can't say enough about what taj has done to improve his game. Taj has become a very good player. His defense and motor is not paired with competent enough offense. I hope we are able to keep him because I'm willing. To bet anything mirotic playing horrible weakass d.

Because the only way to make this a championship team is to acquire a 2nd superstar. And if you fail to do that in free agency, then you need Boozers expiring contract to be able to make a trade during the season for one.

I could get used to that. Honest question, how many games would the Bulls win with a healthy Derrick Rose and LeBron James? With Thibs coaching, would they break the 98 Bulls record?
