I love that we are absolutely buttfucking this Knicks team. The knicks need to get Melo another max, amnesty amare and start over again. This team is awful together. This is proof that you cant just keep trying to get the next best available player. You need to put a group together that works.

The Carmelo Anthony to the Bulls talk is heating up now that Anthony is getting ever frustrated with the Knicks this year. They have nothing for the foreseeable future. If Anthony wants to opt out and come to Chicago for 3 years, $36 million the Bulls would have to be interested. For those who say that Carmelo doesn't play defense, you're right. But if you want a guy at SF who can create his own shot and play defense, there's LebRon and Paul George and that's about it. Those guys don't grow on trees. I think he could be a serviceable defender under Thibs. But isn't the bigger problem that the Bulls are going to bring Mirotic over? You can't pay him and Anthony. Wouldn't that be $20 million at least?

 

For just Melo. He's not signing for 3/$36M. He's signing for max.

 

Melo can't sign for $20 million with the Bulls. Isn't that over max? I thought he has already said he is open to signing for something less than max money. He has seen what LeBron and the rest of the big three did. They took less to win. It's his time to do that.

I checked a bunch of guys who I thought would be candidates and only Barkley, Webber and Garnett. No centers that I found. I Checked passing centers like divac, arvidis, and brad miller and they hadn’t.

Sam Lacey (1979-80): 5.7

Vlade Divac (2003-04): 5.3

Sam Lacey (1980-81): 4.9

 

neither of them had 10 RPG; so Noah could become the only C with 10 RPG / 5 APG, but Larry Bird (5x) did this all the time, apparently, and so did KG (3x)

That's an impressive feat. I could see Lebron reaching 10/5 as his career hits the decline and he may become more of a interior/back to the basket player and spend more time at PF than SF. He's gotten to 8/7, 7/8 once and 7/6 or 7/7 a few times already.

I just read that if the bulls amnesty Booz and move dunleavy we could get melo 18mm year one. Is that without Mirotic? How does that compare with any team other than the Knicks.

I would assume that's without Mirotic. I think it could be tough, or even impossible, to sign Melo to a max and still be able to bring Mirotic over.

 

Hou (move Asik/Linn), Dal (have the expirings to offer a max), LAL (plenty of space), NY, CHI (with the Boozer/Dunleavy moves), and possibly MIA (depending on what LBJ does and/or Bosh/Wade) are all big market teams that could offer him the max with not all that hard of maneuvers.
