I don't understand how someone like Vogelbach has millions of dollars staring him in the face but he can't find the motivation to get in shape. Maybe he thinks he's that good that it won't matter? I don't understand.

Yeah, not sure what that is about. Vogelbach has, by all accounts, lost a good deal of weight since he entered the Cubs system.

???

He's lost like 75 lbs since the start of his senior year of high school.

Where on earth did this come from?

He's a big dude, I mean what's he supposed to do?

Yeah by all accounts he's put in work to lose weight, and he has, and is continuing to work on conditioning. McLeod was on Law's podcast a few weeks ago and Vogelbach came up and he explicitly stated they are working on his conditioning and trying to get him to become more nimble/flexible with exercises.

Have you just been catching up on the last year of activity? Yesterday it was talking about how well Vitters has played since his return, today's it's about the weight Vogelbach lost a long time ago.

In related news, I'm starting to think that Hayden Simpson wasn't a great pick.

Considering that post you just made about Jackson, this is great.

He needs to lose more - saw him live last week. But yeah, basically you are correct.

Tangentially related to the weird Voglebach comment, I really hope he continues on this pace and ends up taking Rizzo's job.

Funny, but I hope Rizzo's BABIP normalizes, he continues with his progression and gets his power output to his potential.

And the NL adopts the DH and Vogelbach finds a spot on the roster that way.

I dunno. I just feel very meh about Rizzo. I get Grace/Palmiero vibes when considering what will happen if Vogelbach progresses through the system and they have to make a decision.

I'll say this: if they put V in the outfield for a year, I'll watch every game for the entertainment value.
