Black almost certainly profiles as a reliever once he gets to MLB, right?

Yes.

that time for tennessee/b'ham should be 11A, correct?

Oops. Yeah. I corrected the OP.

baez hitting .227 over his last 10...still has an OPS of 1.047 in that span. in those ~50 PAs, he's walked/k'ed/homered 30 times.

That's just stupid.

Matt Szczur isn't a thing anymore. Very reasonable target for clearing up a 40-man spot this offseason, if we need to.

The question is if he was ever really a thing.

And holy [expletive], Javy. A single, wtf is that?

Inexplicably, Tennessee plays "Go Cubs Go."

The Cub Way.

Baez finishes 1-for-4 with a single, a ROE, no Ks. Scored the walk-of run on a bases-loaded infield single.

THey used to do this in Peoria, as well (when the Chiefs were the Cubs affiliate, of course). I imagine they do it throughout the system; David's remark may be much less facetious than it seems.

I was golfing in Cape May last week and the starter noticed my Cubs hat and asked how I was liking "their guy". I hemmed and hawed trying to remember who he was talking about and said, "oh the outfielder". He's a thing there, apparently. But that's about it.

To be fair to Szczur, the last time I thought a high level college WR should give up playing baseball for the Cubs and try his hand at the NFL, that player started on his way to becoming the Cubs ace.

Plus, I don't think he's that bad. In a prolonged slump now, but he was a respectable/usable .292/.360 (avg/OBP) in the first half for Iowa. Of course he has no power to speak of, but the Cubs have kept Borbon on the roster so....

Szczur is at Tennessee.

Yeah, I know. I don't know why I put Iowa. Actually yes I do. I was going to say something about him possibly showing power in Iowa.
