What?? The Cavs have absolutely no chance of beating the Bulls and Pacers for the division. It is clearly a 2 team race. And if Derrick is fully healthy all season I dont think the Pacer have much of a chance of keeping up with Thibs.

The Cavs have a chance, it's not huge, but they have one. Kyrie has the ability to be a top 5 player in the league and if Bynum is healthy they could challenge the Bulls, lots of ifs but they could be there all season. And the Pacers absolutely have a chance of keeping up, regardless of Thibs or Rose. They made some excellent moves to improve their depth and their starting lineup can go blow for blow with the Bulls all day.

I don't see it with the Cavs. They'll be good this year, but even with a healthy Bynum (which won't happen) they're still a couple players away from keeping up with the Bulls and Pacers. And the Pacers are going to be damn good, but if Rose is healthy and himself the Bulls are going to win 60+ games. As good and deep as the Pacers are, I just don't see them winning that many games.

This really isn't me putting down the Cavs or Pacers. I just think the Bulls are going to be really, really good this year (once again, if Derrick is healthy and himself).

the odds of getting a healthy season from both irving and bynum has got to be as close to 0 as possible. If you get 120 games out of those two, consider it a massive win.

There's lots of reasons to think the Cavs will pick up a bunch of wins over last year. Health(Irving, Varejao, Bynum), acquisitions(Bynum, Bennett, Jack), maturation of their current young guys(Thompson, Waiters, Zeller), and improved system/defense with Brown at the helm. Not ALL of those things will come to fruition of course, but depending on which of them do and to what degree, the Cavs could make a pretty big jump. Whether you think that is potentially enough to reach the Bulls(or Pacers) is probably more a reflection on your opinion of the Bulls than the Cavs.

The funny part is that 99% of Pippen references are Jordan related.

Also, RHCP is not hiphop enough, or Magic Johnson would have had extra credit.

Not really, surprisingly. The mentions are listed below.

TMZ is reporting that Lamar Odom has been missing for three days.

According to the site, Khloe Kardashian's husband vanished suddenly and his family believes he may be on a drug binge.

Heard that this morning, he's been through a lot of [expletive] the last few years. Pretty sure he had two really close people to him die and soon after witnessed someone die in a car accident he was in and also had/has to put up with being in the spotlight 24/7 with his [expletive] crazy family and that tv show. Hopefully they can get him the appropriate help.

We've all seen his wife. It doesn't surprise me that he'd have to be high on crack to climb on top of that beast every night.

Paul George signs a 5 year max extension (around $90 million total) with Pacers. Glad they were able to keep him, he's a top 5-7 player in the league.

He's really good, but top 5-7 player?

I think so. He's the 3rd best SF behind LBJ/KD and showed in the playoffs he is a very good defender and can score in multiple ways. Also with Rose/Westbrook not back from surgeries yet I would put him a head of them.

George was the 12th best SF in PER last year(T-87th overall). Not that he can't make that leap, but I don't think you can reasonably say he's a Top 10 player in the game right now, maybe even Top 20.

I guess what he did in the playoffs is still fresh in my mind and not the regular season in which he was good but not great. I guess at his age 23 season this year I expect him to perform closer to what he did in the playoffs than what he did in the regular season last year. I understand the argument that he's more of a high teens/20's guy, I just expect him to take that jump this year he showed in the playoffs last year. Also the fact he can play SG, which is easily the shallowest position in the NBA is huge. Right now it's basically James Harden and James Harden at the 2 spot.

George definitely has to get better to be a top 15 player IMO. He seems likely to get there though. He's already there defensively as he is one of the 3 best perimeter defenders in the league, and is a very good rebounder for his position. Offensively, he has all the natural tools. He can explode to the rim, he has great length, and he can shoot.

The things he struggles at are things like dribbling through traffic and drawing contact when he gets in close. He has already been getting better at those, and I expect him to continue that. He is a player who has not gotten very great coaching before the pros. Didn't start playing organized basketball until high school, and then played college in a very loose atmosphere at Fresno State.

The thing Pacer fans are waiting on with his contract details is if he got the possibility of the Rose rule or not. He made All-NBA 3rd team last year, and if he does it again this year he's eligible for the higher max. The contract estimate that was reported could reflect either max, and that's a big deal for the Pacers as they try to keep Lance Stephenson after the season (Granger is as good as gone).
