Coming into today, Cubs pitchers were first in 2B, TB and RBI, tied for first in HR and third in hits. They were also 5th/5th/1st/2nd in the slash stats (I excluded a couple AL teams who only had a handful of ABs here, such as Detroit, who would have been 1st in OPS but only had 3 ABs).

Our rotation has been so awesome, too bad the bullpen, defense and most of the offense has been average-awful

Well, neither ump called it. To expect a batter to go after a pitch like that on 1-2 or 2-2 is one thing but on 3-2 is too risky in my opinion. But it was better than allowing a hit.

 

Using your only lefty at that point is questionable as well.
