  1. I don't think that is too drastic. He needs at bats to get it figured out but how long can you keep him in the lineup at the major league level?
  2. According to Iowa box score, Javy played 3rd base tonight. Is it a coincidence or could they be prepping him for call up to play there with Bryant moving to RF while Soler is out? Then again, they could use him at 2nd and move Coghlan to RF.
  3. Jorge hits the ball very hard. Way to go Starlin! Finally the Cubs break through.
  4. What has Coghlan accomplished that keeps him in the lineup?
  5. That was absolutely hilarious watching them leave the dugout area and Bryant go down the tunnel to find them.
  6. Soler really needs to stop swinging at crappy pitches. Looks like he took that Vlad comparison to heart.
  7. Rizzo picks up Soler and keeps inning alive for Bryant. Is this the at bat for the first dong?
  8. Nice two out rally. Have to love the approach by Cub hitters. Pitch count climbing rapidly this inning.
  9. Very nice to see Russell get a big hit. Impressed also with the opposite field power he showed.
  10. Good time for Russell's first big league home run.
  11. ^ This made me laugh ^ So regardless if the Reds score, Reds will go with Chapman in the 9th right? Should be fun with Rizzo, Bryant and Denorfia probably.
  12. Well here you go Mr. Bryant. Make them pay.
  13. So if you can see the ball, it is still a ground rule double?
  14. I heard that too. While I usually like Hub, but won't even try to defend or understand why he would say that.
  15. Hub pretty much discounted Levine but said he understands Levine is protecting his sources by saying there is no deal. Hub has been around this stuff long enough to know what Levine was trying to do.
  16. Bruce Levine said on 670 am, "Maddon's agent told me at 4:30 today there is no deal, but they are negotiating." He also said if it doesn't get done by the end of the weekend, it might not get done because Maddon has a lot of other offers to consider. It seemed to me like he was trying to help the agent diffuse the situation since it is game 7 night. By the end of the discussion, he finally admitted it will probably happen.
  17. You're aware that two of the most patient hitters (Rizzo, Soler) aren't in the lineup, Baez and Alcantara are in their early 20s and have like 200 at bats between them, etc You are aware that you are making excuses right?
  18. After 3 innings, Lackey was just over 60 pitches and Wood was in the mid 30's. After 5, Lackey at 76 while Wood can't make it out of the 5th and is close to 100 pitches. The "grinding out at bats" message doesn't seem to be getting through.
  19. Lead off double followed by three terrible at bats. Making outs is one thing, but swinging at terrible pitches is ridiculous. It appears no one has a plan at all when they step into the batters box.
