Given the matchups and the strengths of Boston's pitchers, its a better matchup than Young or Rodriguez, regardless of a bad month.

He struggled as did the entire lineup, I can understand the logic behind benching him, I didn't agree with it but I still dont understand some of his moves with the starting Hellickson and the overall bullpen management. With that said, hes the best manager by a mile.

I was not watching last night, and I cannot find any repackaged video of that particular moment, so I can’t personally vouch for what Levine said. He has previously indicated that Maddux could be interested in the job, however, so it’s plausible. Anyone have a transcript or a video to review? Either way, that precise setup coming into play seems unlikely.
