I just noticed it tonight, but is Rizzo's walk up music "Good Vibrations"?

yes and its amazing

He probably asked for Jason Mraz or something and they laughed him out of the office.

I made some disparaging comments about Kevin Millar the other day. I still think he's annoying as [expletive], but, since I compared him to Kaplan, I think I owe him an apology after watching this video. So here goes: Kevin, I'm sorry I compared you, in any way, to Kaplan (who is a total [expletive]). You had a fun interview with Rizzo, and I was wrong to compare you to a racist douchebag.

Sincerely

Jumbo (formerly Jumbowang)

Kaplan is a racist jock sniffer.

Millar is just an idiot.

It's the end of April, and Rizzo has as many or more stolen bases than 20% of MLB teams.

Posting this in the KB thread, but pitchers are really staying away from Rizzo this year.

The other two NL Central CSP fallers, Kolten Wong and Anthony Rizzo, are former top prospects who are now in their mid-20s and mashing. The fact that they’re seeing fewer hittable pitches should only add to the optimism.

It's awesome that no one pitches to Rozzo, but when they do he murders.

He's a rich mans Joey Votto

I was thinking more like prime Helton a couple days ago, but then I looked at Helton's # and holy crap... I forgot just how good his #s were the first 6-8 years.

Oh I know, but Helton's BB/K rate in that time... =P~

The comp looks pretty good once you add in the context of era/ballpark. I'd be curious to see whether the two would be closer together in K rate if it were also adjusted by year. By OPS+, Rizzo just seems to be about a couple years ahead in terms of development.

Helton had his first full season at Age 24. He OPS'd .911 with an OPS+ of 119. He followed it up with an OPS+ of 122 and then only had one year under 160 in the next 6 years (but never over 165).

Rizzo had the 2/3 debut season at age 22 with an OPS+ of 116 followed by 106 in 2013. His age 24 season was last year and he had an OPS of .913 with an OPS+ of 153. He's currently at 183 for 2015.
