It's a pretty dumb bit. Maybe if it were at a place where the expectation would be that people were pretty knowledgeable about Cubs prospects, but people on the street outside Wrigley doesn't qualify.

haha.

Which is why I was going to argue with his 4-1 dumb to smart ratio but I didn't bother

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD IT'S A BIT

OF COURSE THEY'RE NOT SHOWING THE GUY WHO IS LIKE UHH YOU JUST MADE THAT GUY UP

I'm generally not a fan of "let's make fun of harmless normal folks" bits. They are mean and dumb and made for mean and dumb people who need to see others fail in order to make themselves feel better about their mean dumbasses.

Also, leading the witness with "from the Oakland deal" or "from the Garza deal' is a dumb trick that is going to create more "oh that was his name" assumptions by the interviewee than simply just throwing out a name.

Also, that MS guy is probly OMC.

even I didn't understand what that guy was saying. That dude is...wow...way to play to the stereotype there, champ.

Red Eye apparently has some issues with anagrams: Doug Yelouf = Fooled You.

Yeah he sounds nothing like the people I've met from Mississippi. Hilarious.

90% of the people I know from here sound nothing like that. Granted, I don't hang out with hicks and I'm educated. Nevertheless, I can accept your post as sarcasm, which it obviously is, or as being a sincere statement because I don't encounter people of that hickish magnitude too often.

No, I really wasn't being sarcastic.

There's too much Cubs positivity going around

Starlin Castro is hitting .230/.316/.280/.596 with 0 HRs in his last 27 games (since June 21)

that's a giant [expletive] IsoD for Castro

Rest him occasionally? 162 games in 2012, 161 in '13. 98 so far this year.

That's a weird response to that post pointing out something positive...

Perhaps he thought the expletive was another word which made it seem bad, which is what I initially thought. Also, I have no idea what constitutes a good or bad IsoD, and Googling it to find out yields nothing but info on ISO or IsoP. Found the formula (OBP - AVG - IBB), but couldn't find anything on averages or statistics for IsoD. Wanted to educate myself. Anyone care to enlighten as to what is a barometer for good and bad IsoD's?

Pretty much anything higher than .050 is good.

a solid/average IsoD is probably around 60

start getting close to 100 and your discipline is elite

over 100 and you're adam dunn

Adam Dunn also puts up crazy isoD rates in part due to his Mario Mendoza low averages

basically- assuming a constant BB%, with every hit you get, your isoD goes down

and isoD also includes HBP; BB rate gives a better picture of plate discipline / patient hitting approach than does isoD, imo

I agree with all of this.
