That playoff hurt, but the mark prior career saga still hurts more. I thought we'd have a few more shots. Hell, if he doesn't get hurt we still probably have him in our rotation.

Yeah, forget the stupid Playoff Series That Shall Not Be Named.

The real hurt is how amazingly horrifying the last decade has been when *everything* seemed to be pointing up. Some of it was bad management, but a lot of it has been flat-out bad luck.

Most of it was bad management.

If Prior, Wood, Zambrano, and Guzman stay healthy we could have batted the janitor 3rd and Neifi cleanup and still ended up with a couple rings.

So true. It is BY FAR the best sport to attend in-person. Not even close. In fact, I'm heading down to Raleigh right now to see the Hawks.

Here, found some videos of happier moments in the 2003 run:

Sosa's HR to tie game 1 (ignore that they lost this one): http://wapc.mlb.com/play/?content_id=25719193&query=2003%2Bnlcs

Cubs win game 5 of the NLDS: http://wapc.mlb.com/play/?content_id=19984787&query=2003%2Bnlcs

That's all stupid mlb.com has on their site. I still havent seen a video of the Ramirez Grand Slam since the night it happened.

I saw the first fan reference today to 2017-2018 being when the rebuild pays off, no sooner.

A guy on PSD said that a few days ago.

It's also the best to watch on TV IMHO. So few stoppages of play/commercial breaks compared to other sports. 20 minutes of action then go do a 10 minute errand and come back for the next period.

I'm not watching much of the baseball playoffs because it's SOOO SLOOOWWWW. They really need to speed up the games (I thought batters weren't suppose to step out of the batters box anymore???). If I'm at home, I DVR Bears games and start watching about an hour and half after the game starts. By skipping commercials I usually catch up to the live feed by the end of the game.

While I have done that if I have a conflict prior to the start of the game, I would never do that by choice. It sucks for watching football. Although it works great for baseball. You can watch any game on 2-3 times speed and just hit play whenever you think you see something interesting happen. It also works with hockey.

I used to think this way, but not any more. They should eliminate any large delays if they can, but in general baseball is meant to be a slower game. It's not supposed to be like hockey or basketball. Different sport, different vibe. Let it be what it is.

10 years later, my hatred for Alex Gonzalez has not waned a bit.

Last year he was quoted as saying that his error in game 6 was just "part of the game." Hate hate hate.

Football is the only sport where I see it working. It's like the skip ahead 30 seconds button was created just for that. Can catch an entire game in a half hour that way.

Only if you have an offense using the whole clock. You have to hit the button right after the play ends and hope they aren't hurrying up. Then you also have the red zone option which you can turn to from time to time during your game. I'd rather use the back button to toggle between the Bears and everybody else between plays than bother with fast forwarding. But the big point is football is played at only a select few times during the week so it's easy, and enjoyable to watch them all. Baseball is played everyday and it's easy to miss games.

Put a baseball game on fast forward and just hit play whenever you see movement on the little diamond thingy, it rewinds to just prior to that play and you can see it. Hockey does the same thing. I've done that at night many times after watching something with the wife.

That Sammy HR is still one of the most exciting sports events I've ever seen.

Holy [expletive] I miss Sammy

The nineties bulls were [expletive] amazing. No need to feel sorry for those of us who lived through that.
