Jerrance Howard is joining KU's staff. I know he has a great reputation as a recruiter. Do UI fans know how he is as a coach? He's replacing a guy who had a solid reputation as an instructor.

I don't get this move for Kansas. He's a very good recruiter, but self doesn't really need help in that. He's awful as a coch from what I have heard. I guess this about getting in hood with Okafor and Alexander?

 

He's a recruiter. He has some great relationships in Chicago. Always seemed extremely tight with players too.

 

yeah, he's a recruiter. but i don't think he's very valuable for anyone besides illinois.

Like Bill Self needs his assistants to be recruiters. He just landed Andrew Wiggins. Seems to me like he would have wanted a strong X and Os guy.

some reputable MSU scout says that Alexander and Okafor are going to Illinois. just looking for news, here, but i'm not saying it's true, nor am i saying an announcement is imminent.

 

but if so, the illini program pulls an ohio state and makes themselves national players very quickly.

Yeah, it was a pretty big surprise but apparently Mark Few (Gibbs started out at Gonzaga before transferring) was instrumental with Gibbs getting a 6th year due to 2 separate injuries that knocked out 2 different seasons for him. The second injury preceded the transfer year, which is likely what pushed the NCAA to giving the 6th year.

Jordan Hulls paid for his scholarshipsince he got his BA, CPA, graduated law school, passed the bar, and became a partner at a huge lawfirm in his 4 years at IU.

I find it very hard to believe both will land at UI. Particularly Okafor, who seems hell bent on playing with Tyus Jones. I think they land at Duke. Alexander...who knows. He could land anywhere. I thought I'd read UK and MSU were the likely destinations.

 

I'm interested in this Myles Turner kid. Talk about coming out of nowhere.
