living in the chambana area I have to say I really feel bad for illinois today. holy cow the fans around here are really taking this hard. Kind of funny that I would be more upset about Snyder switching back to Louisville, but around here Alexander is taking most of the heat.

I am definitely more upset about losing Snider. He would have been around for much longer and he was already "committed." As much as I was starting to believe Alexander was going to choose Illinois, Kansas was always the most logical possibility.

 

I don't think the hat fake would have even really bothered me if it wasn't for the fact that it was the 2nd time that day we were sort of embarrassed. We lose a guy the in the morning (once again last minute like Gordon) and then get made fun of by Cliff. Literally 24 hours earlier everything was looking great. We had some really good recruits already on board with the possibility of adding a complete team changer. Then not only do we not get cliff, but we lose one we had... fantastic.

 

Also, the hat fake would be a little less annoying if it was in the Okafor situation. If you fake Kansas out and then pick duke, Kansas fans are mad for about 4 minutes until they have to settle for the number 3 player in the country. Illinois was thinking they might be back, then get made fun of by one of our own state's recruits...

It's a tough spiral for you to get out of. Luckily when we were in the same position several years ago hired the right guy the second time around.

 

I won't pretend to tell you that I hope get out of it though.

Lol, was that second part English?

 

And yes Fran might be the best coach in America. Hopefully Cal doesn't go back to the NBA, you don't want Kentucky snatching him up.

Yes. I used to kind of enjoy him in the 80s...I have a hard time even remembering why at this point

 

I'm too young to remember it, but clips I've seen of him from the 80s/early 90s he was very good. He became a parody of himself some point around the time I started watching, and now he's added preachiness to his complete lack of analysis and screaming.

Blah tough loss for UM today. I didn't really expect Michigan to come in to Ames and win (although didnt think it was impossible), but it sucks to see them lead for a lot of the 2nd half and just fall apart down the stretch. Michigan probably has the hardest non-conference schedule in the county this year so hopefully they learn and grow from this tough test. Good to see McGary back and looking good though.

Wow.. UNC, ND, and Michigan go down. I guess Michigan was a Vegas dog though.

An inexplicable non-conference loss is practically an ND tradition, though it usually doesn't come until December. ISU is good, but ND played like garbage today. And IU, Ohio St and Iowa are still left on the OOC schedule. Ugh.
