I don't pick IU for fear of jinxing them. I did pick them to elite 8 though (beating Syracuse). But I doubt there's anyone saying Crean isn't the guy for the job yet. Hes basically had 2 years with a legit team. A lot of other good teams lost earlier than expected too. Not sure what to expect next year but its going to be at least 3 years until IU has a team this capable of winning ot all again unless the freshman are a lot better tham expected.

I think overall they should be pretty good next year. I just worry the Big Ten is going to be a nightmare for them with their interior play.

IU boosters should really be asking themselves if Crean is the man for the job.

This is a joke, right?

They were stuck in hell when he got there and they just won 29 games and the outright title in the best league in the country.

Rachel Nichols could get it.

Hideous in real life

while watching the MSU game the other day we were talking about how unattractive she is....yet somehow kind of appealing. I think it has something to do with the air of willingness she kind of gives off.

Ha! That's about the cleanest way you can put that. There is a certain something about her that's really tough to pinpoint though.

Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota should be worse next year. MSU might be worse (only 1 recruit next year and its 3 stars). I mean the Big Ten should still be really good just probably not as good as this year.

Yeah. The league will still be good but it should not be nearly as strong. Also maybe not quite as bullish inside as many years, which could make life easier for IU.

Regardless, IU was never the same team after the win at Michigan State. They were 24-3 at that point and 5-4 after. Not sure there ever will be an explanation for that.

Agree, and I have no idea what happened after that Michigan State game.

Are we certain Zeller is leaving for the draft? He's going to have to be able to shoot the ball better from mid range to make any impact in the NBA as he's going to be soft around the rim in that league.

Apparently you don't post at Hoosier Sports Nation. There is a 100+ post thread there about firing Crean right now and offering Stevens the job.

Granted, that is one random meatball but these kinds of psychos do exist out there.

I think he has to. His stock is just going to continue to drop the more he stays in college. The only prospects that benefit from staying are ones who are great athletes but raw. Zeller's flaws won't really get better by staying.

I still think he will leave, but I disagree with this. Zeller could improve his stock by developing/showing a consistent mid-range jump shot. He's going to have to make that shot in the NBA. That is a "flaw" that is certainly correctable in college.

Plus the 6 UK frosh, Andrew Wiggins, and Jabari Parker are all in next years draft. He better go now.

The Zellers are big on education, I don't think he'll leave early even next year. Rumor has it he's going to forego the NBA and get his phD instead

He should've left last year.

Nah, it made sense to go for it this year, but that ship sailed. Now he has to go get paid.

It made sense because he didn't shatter his femur. Take the money.

I was worried Syracuse might be a nightmare matchup...it was. I think IU was 4-4 on foul-line jumpers, yet they continued to drive to get their shots blocked. I'm not entirely sure that is actually Crean's fault; they could hardly complete a pass. I thought the gameplan looked good early, but turnovers kill any gameplan.

On the bright side, I'm likely to win my pool. Not surprisingly, I was the only person with Syracuse advancing to the Final Four (and everyone had either Louisville or Indiana winning the title).

Man you picked against IU? That sucks.

Well. . . when another team punched this team in the mouth, they puckered. And they slumped at the end of the season (right after the game I started fully believing in them!). Plus, well, the bench is incapable of adjusting when things aren't going well. None of that is a great recipe for success n the tournament. I'm sure there was some subconscious reverse-jinxing at work; my secondary bracket did have them in the Final Four.

I've pretty much said all this all year long--to the point other IU fans accused me of hating/not enjoying this team. But, of course, on the flip-side, any positive statement about IU or its players is met with the eye-rolling"typical IU fan bias" nonsense.

Sounds like my bracket. I picked Duke. The Syracuse matchup worried me too. Hulls/Ferrell backcourt can't hang with those guys. Hulls forgot how to shoot in March, and when he did, he became a huge liability.

Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota should be worse next year. MSU might be worse (only 1 recruit next year and its 3 stars). I mean the Big Ten should still be really good just probably not as good as this year.

if GR3 returns, we won't be worse next year

You're losing Trey Burke. You'll be worse.

I think they could be better.
