@seankjensen

So @JoeGryffindor just said he's going to Florida to train with @BMarshall. Not wasting any time. @AJJeffery1 and @ERod_Inc also there.

If what this story is saying is accurate, I really kind of wish the Bears had a 3rd rounder to use on him.

Denard Robinson as a WR?

i personally don't like Denard a whole lot as a WR, his best skill is patience in setting up blocks and then exploding through the hole. he'd be terrific on bubble screens, but overall it probably wouldn't be a great fit; he's really just a project at this point

i wish he'd decide to work some on his blitz pickup and focus on being a Jamaal Charles/Chris Johnson-type RB; he's the same size, has comparable speed & quickness, and has proven he can handle a similar type of workload

Bushrod's full salary breakdown: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-chicago-bears-bushrod-contract-details-20130314,0,3546633.story

His cap number definitely jumps after this season.

My guess is he's probably cut around year 4-5 depending on his performance. As long as he buys the Bears around 3 years I'm happy with the move. We need to be afforded more time to rebound from such shitty drafting over the last 5 years.

Yep. No matter how good Emery and Trestman are, they have to repair the mistakes of the past.

Latest draft tek mo k has the Bears going CB Des Trufant and LB Te'o 1 and 2.

Tek mo k?

I'd hate those picks. CB isn't the biggest need and Te'o isn't the best fit. And this is a team still without a starting LG.

i like t'eo more than ogletree. ogletree may be more physically gifted but he's not nearly as disciplined as t'eo, nor does he have t'eo's instincts in the middle.

i don't like the trufant pick at all. if warmack or cooper falls to 20, you have to grab one of them. i wouldn't even mind going OG in the second either. If neither of the big guards fall, i'm trying to trade down and pick up the lost 3rd rounder.

Ogletree being more physically gifted is all that matters to me. I don't hate Te'o as a prospect, and he'd probably be a steal at 50 overall. But Ogletree's game plays so much better in the current NFL. He can cover so much ground so fast. Not really strong in the passing game yet, but has the athletic ability to really be strong in zone coverage and can blitz very well. The biggest complaint people have is that you can run right at him, well you could run right at Urlacher too once Ted Washington was gone and blockers could get on him. Not a big deal to me.

It seems to me that assumptions are being made that we're staying in the same defense. Who knows what the plans are on that side of the ball. It's really hard to tell at this point who the best fits are defensively.

I wouldn't mind a CB in the first 2 rounds. We gotta shed Tillman and Jennings as they get older and Tillman has a big cap hit.

CB and LB are the immediate needs on the defense imo.

I think it pretty apparent that the Bears are playing a single linebacker defense this year. Bold move.

ok. That's obviously what I was going for there.

I like Arthur Brown (Kansas State) at linebacker in the second round.

Guard and linebacker are clearly their biggest need, currently. I hope they can sign one of their free agent LBs to a cost-friendly deal.

Didn't mean that as snarky. Was just a dumb joke.

well, tucker runs a cover-2 base scheme, too. and i'd imagine he's closer to lovie/kiffin than he is to jauron.

What about the fact that the new DC is from a cover 2 scheme and explicitly stated that he wasn't changing anything?
