Whitehurst is struttin around the sidelines like he's supply-side Jesus

Going to be hard to find an 8th lineman. The 5 that started tonight are pretty safe. James Brown is going to make it. And I think Webb is on the team. Britton has played both OT and OG spots in his career, but he's been terrible at all of them and didn't look good tonight. It's pretty clear to me Edwin isn't in the plans, not even #2 OC anymore, oh and he also sucked tonight. Who knows what's going on with Scott. If Mills is really going to start, I could see Britton making it based on his ability to also play OG if needed. Slauson becomes the only backup C, though Garza's been pretty durable.

Just peeking in here to see if everybody is still mad bout Kyle Long or not. I loved him before the draft and everything I've seen/heard since has only corroborated what I thought then. I think he can be a pro bowl lineman anywhere on the line but center.

Didnt get to see the game at all tonight but sounds like Long was killer. Also sounds like the one JC pick was brutal but according to Twitter he admitted he should've checked down in his presser. Hopefully that's something he keeps in mind for the regular season.

Cutler's pick was nothing short of horrible. He's forcing a lot to Marshall. That said, I wonder whether they were purposefully trying to work the ball to Brandon last night since he didn't play last week and might not in Week 4. It's something to watch carefully next week.

I thought the OLine played great. D was solid. I have some concern about our secondary.

But let's be honest - this is all about Jay.

But let's be honest - this is all about Jay.

Fair or not, this is true.

I follow a lot of the sports radio guys on twitter, and it's funny. Bernstein last night was laughing at the overreactions to a preseason game last night, but then goes on to criticize Cutler for the one int, despite a 98.3 rating. Mully has already called Cutler "Jeff George" this morning on the radio.

I know I'm a Cutler apologist, and he wasn't perfect last night, but for a guy in his umpteenth offense, I was happy with what I saw last night. He needs to obviously find some other guys besides Marshall to throw too, but it's hard to know if that's on Cutler, or if it's on the WR's for not getting seperation. I'm thinking it's probably time to put more of that on Cutler at this point...but still hard to tell.

The pick was frustrating, and that was all on Jay..no doubt. But he's gonna throw his share of picks. As long as they're in areas of the field that don't hurt too much, I think we just have to accept that.

The amount of obsession over that pick is astonishing. He's an INT prone QB in the preseason with a hodgepodge line and WR group in his 5th new offense with the team, again, in preseason. QBs throw picks. Picks often look bad. It was like his 5th drive ever under this system, in preseason.

I think it would have been good to have Jay play a few more series last night. I realize injuries are a concern and all that, I just think he's going to need reps to feel comfortable. I hope the transition doesn't last half way into the season.

Another series or two isn't going to make much of a difference, and it does open him up to injury.

This is going to last into the regular season, there is no way around it.

He didnt get enough on it becayse he was anticipating a hit from behind. That said, Marshall wasnt open at all and no throw would have been successful.

The good news is that Long looked like the [expletive] terminator last night in both run and pass-blocking.

Hub said Long has bad hands. Hub is never wrong, so I wonder what he'll say today.

Haha, yes. That will be highly entertaining.

Interesting...Bears have the 25th largest jumbotron in the NFL.

Hub on The Score now.

He's minimizing what Long did, thinks Long is still playing the wrong position, and that Mills was as good or better. Said Mills has a better idea of what to do with his hands.

There was one play, a TD run, where the announcers praised Long while Mills had the much more impressive and important block. Long basically let a guy who was moving sideways take himself out of the play, while Garza made the initial block and Mills stood up a LB in the hole and drove him into the endzone. Long did show a ton of upside in that game though.

WTF are the Texans doing? The Cowboys Jumbotron is already ridiculously large and their new one will dwarf it. When you go to a game at Cowboys Stadium (now AT&T Stadium, I guess) you end up watching on the Jumbotron because it is too distracting. It's an amazing piece of technology but it detracts from the game.
