Wait, he didn't die a few years ago? I had a conversation, like, two weeks ago where all three of us thought he was dead.

I think there were twitter rumors a few years ago that he died. Maybe it's just a training camp tradition.

Dallas is definitely a football town even though their fans are pretty clueless when it comes to the sport. It's quite shocking considering how huge football is in this state. I was at a Buffalo Wild Wings last Friday night for a FF draft when they turned the sound off on the first place Texas Rangers game in favor of the Cowboys pre-season game and no one seemed the least bit upset about it.

twitter claims that william perry died.

The Clemson web site that ran the story and was the first to tweet it has since deleted both.

@DannyEcker: William "Refrigerator" Perry's talent agency confirms that the former Bear is fine, contrary to brief @ClemsonTigerNet report.

There was an ESPN story a couple years ago about how bad of shape he was in and that he was drinking himself to death, but I don't remember anything about him actually dying.

Green Bay/Milwaukee, New Orleans, Cleveland, and Baltimore I'd say as well.

I don't think Green Bay counts. New Orleans didn't give a crap about the Saints, or sports in general until 5 years ago, and that was with no competition for local hearts. Cleveland is most likely correct, and I don't know anything about Baltimore.

if you consider Wisconsin a city, it totally does. As far as New Orleans, yeah, they needed to get good to beloved, but they are loved. I also forgot about Seattle.

'OK' is not the word I would use. It's actually quite amazing the guy is still alive with all he's put himself through.

Times are a changing my friend. I see sounders stuff (hats, shirts, jackets and their season ticket scarves) on people at least 2/1 over seahawks crap and much more than that over mariners. You can't reserve baseball fields in local parks during the summer bc they're almost universally being used for soccer all day long. This here is a soccer town.

I was about to ask what the hell the sounders were until the last part.

I kid.

It's a pretty fair mix of hipsters, techies, crunchy folks and homeless.

Things I've never heard of since this page: Sounders and crunchy folks.

Just the new slang for the hippies.

Tree huggers --> granola --> crunchy

Before the Sounders joined the MLS (and Sonics moved to OKC), what kind of town was Seattle? I would have guessed a Sonics town since they were the oldest franchise in the city and the only one with a championship.

well, whoever was winning. but with all the nonsense about the 12th man, i'd say it's a Seahawks town now.
