Sure. Now they just have to win 12 games against BCS teams. Playing 12 BCS teams would be a start.

Maybe we can transition into playing more weak out of conference teams such as Notre Dame.

The list keeps growing. #5lossfans

ahem...6 losses

I wasn't prepared to make this statement before last night, but after watching ND last night and how slow they were, I feel safe saying that ND, in addition to the loss against Bama, would have also had losses like Ole Miss did to Georgia, LSU, A&M, and probably Texas and Vandy too.

ND at best is a 3 loss SEC team.

This is just goofy.

Georgia is going to be tough next year.

Their offense will be great but they are losing a lot on defense (John Jenkins, Jarvis Jones, Alec Ogletree and both starting safeties).

Other than A&M, I don't see a loss for Bama next year.

Their schedule sets up insanely for them.

- They get Kentucky and Tennessee out of the East

- They have an open date before both A&M AND LSU.

Georgia State AND Chattanooga. Colorado State, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee. 8 home games. How's any teams supposed to get through that gauntlet.

I get that you all hate ND but I don't much give a [expletive] and I'm happy to exchange barbs with the lot of you. But I'd love to see someone identify a poster that I threw the first jab at.

i love you man, but you are behaving worse than i typically do.

It's highly unlikely ND could have beaten Bama, Georgia, A&M and LSU in the regular season. Those teams were all deep and talented enough to play extremely competitive games against each other. ND didn't just get their butts kicked because Saban game planned well against them, but also because they were entirely overmatched by the speed and physicality of Bama.

Like I said, goofy. LSU gave Clemson their first win over a ranked opponent all season. But I guess since Clemson is located in the Confederacy they have the speed and physicality exemption as well.

Odd you didn't mention Florida who was widely regarded as the #2 team in the SEC...and then they lost to [expletive] Louisville

Replace Ole Miss with Miss St.

Ole Miss won't be a gimme win next year. This year they lost by 3 to A&M and 6 to LSU (thanks to a 4th qtr punt return TD) and are only losing two starters.

"Probably lose to Vandy"

I mean this stuff from Snayke is fine because he's clearly doing it to annoy GR, I think you actually believe that Notre Dame would lose to a team who lost to every team on their schedule who wasn't terrible.

OK Vandy was a reach, ha, but having not seen ND play at all this year, I was stunned at the difference in speed and physicality between the teams.

Notre Dame looked like [expletive], but it's not like this is the first good team they've played this year. They beat the #7, #15, and #24 teams in the country. Unless your opinion is that the SEC has the 5 best teams in the country, it doesn't add up.

Physicality, maybe. But the speed difference was pure B1G vs. SEC stuff that we see all the time. Not surprising at all. If OSU wasn't on probation, and made this game, the results would have been very, very similar.

they went 3-5 in the sec and 5 of their wins were absolutely pathetic football teams. The previous 2 years they and 2 and 4 wins, respectively, and have won 4 or fewer games in more than half the seasons in the last decade. Are we sure having the same players is really a huge benefit?

Considering that most of the team is made up of guys who are freshmen and sophomores who didn't play at all last year or didn't play much, I'd say it's a benefit.

The Rebels under Freeze are most certainly not what they were under Nutt, so pointing out that they had 2 wins last year under Nutt is pointless when you look at stat differentials like this:

Points Scored

2011: 193

2012: 409

PPG

2011: 16.1

2012: 31.5

Yards

2011: 3375

2012: 5509

Sacks

2011: 13

2012: 37

Hard to imagine any team ever having a more successful turn around in a single season than that.

After losing to A&M this year, I expect Bama to come in and manhandle the Aggies next fall.

Saban is probably already game planning for that game

I would guess that Saban spends a LOT of time this offseason trying to figure out how to stop our offense.

And I highly doubt Alabama "manhandles" us in our house. They may win, but I would expect a hard fought game either way. Really looking forward to that one. Alabama's schedule sets up nicely for them, but so does ours. If we win that game we should roll into Baton Rouge at 10-0.

Everyone who has read this thread over the past month

With a bye week beforehand and it being the second game of the season, you can bet Saban will be well-prepared for that game. I wonder what his record is against teams following a loss.

That's a pretty pathetic schedule, though. No wonder all the Alabama students were chanting "SEC" during the game.
