Are we talking NFL or cfb? They're two completely different animals.

BTW-you're not truly relying on a team winning 3-4 consecutive 1-game playoffs to support the need to expand the playoffs are you? You know this is flawed logic.

I don't quite get that line of thinking. It's not like MLB or NBA where we have a real good idea about the quality of the top teams. Just look at how much the standings change between Week 13 and Week 17 of the NFL season.

Do they really change much? People had a pretty good idea of who was what by week 13. But the goal isn't to be absolutely certain who is the best team. The goal is to stage a realistic and entertaining season.

4 weeks of playoffs is a horrible idea for college football.

3 of the last 4 Super Bowl winners were out of the playoffs through 12 games. From Week 13 to Week 17 you'll see at least 3 different teams in the bracket, and a couple more jump around seeding-wise as well. The point is that 12 games isn't remotely definitive in anything, so the idea that a 16 team playoff is pointless dilution rings incredibly hollow to me.

The NFL has absolutely nothing to do with college football. NFL talent levels are incredibly even in comparison to CFB.

But the point isn't to be as definitive as possible.

I'm saying that a team winning 3-4 consecutive 1 game playoffs has proved they're of sufficient quality to belong in the playoffs as a whole, and that if you made the cutoff at 12 games that those teams wouldn't have been in.

In cfb, if you dilute the field sufficiently, there will be any number of teams, maybe 15+, maybe 20 in some years, that could run off 3-4 wins against each other. I don't understand the point of giving 3-loss teams a chance at the title. Expand the playoffs and you're going to have even worse OOC scheduling as teams aim for a 10-win season.

I think if you make teams start playing 12 actual quality teams over 13 weeks, there will be fewer 10-win teams. And expanded playoff doesn't get you there.

I didn't realize AJ's gf was Miss Alabama and started dating him just recently. Very well played. Its the smarter version of the Kim Kardashian plan to get famous.

An Auburn grad as well, which makes her plan even more devious and transparent.

I think 6 or 8 teams would be the ideal amount for college football.

8 is only okay if they took the top-8 teams rather than the champ from every BCS conference, which they'll never agree to. A four-team playoff is perfectly fine.

I agree about the 8-team playoff being the top 8 teams and no auto bids for winning a shitty conference.

A mizzou fan using the SEC to troll. Awesome.

We eat dill chips and drink Dr. Pepper by the gallon like any other SEC fan. Roll Tide.

Hold up a second. No one ever told me anything about any dill chips.

...fried pickles will suffice if you're not into dill chips.

Worth another look.

The Chicago song "If You Leave Me Now" started playing in my head when I saw that picture.
