Eh, I just find it very ironic for Indiana/Purdue/Illinois/Minnesota etc fans to be knocking ND. Bundle up everything those programs have ever done and it still pales in comparison to ND football history.

You haven't won anything in 25 years and just got embarrassed on national television...and your response is to claim bragging rights over Indiana, Purdue, Illinois and Minnesota.

I never claimed bragging rights. I'm just pointing out that the above teams suck.

Yet all those teams combined have won the same number of titles as Notre Dame over that time (zero in case you can't count).

MR and Andy---here's a fun game. Let's name all the teams represented in this thread that won't be sniffing a BCS game in next decade.

I'll go first- Indiana.

Notre Dame

Sure, they won't be anywhere near the BCS next fall.

Actually, they will come in ranked in the top 10...play a relatively easy schedule...win 10-12 games and be right back in the BCS next year. Get used to ND playing in January.

Actually, they will come in unranked (or 24th, depending on the poll)...play a really tough schedule...win 7-8 games and be right back in the Champs Sports Bowl next year.

That was Notre Dame coming into this year. Doesn't always work out like that. I'm not saying they have no chance of making the title game or a BCS game next year, just that it's far from a sure thing.

Lose tight road games at Michigan and Stanford, one of Michigan State/Oklahoma/USC (all at home) or Arizona St (neutral site) and one against the rest of the schedule (a letdown type game against a weaker opponent, which they won all of this year) and you've got an 8-4 record and no BCS game.

I understand lesser SEC teams' fans having wildly disproportionate conference pride, but I don't get it from Bama fans. One of the most storied programs in history shouldn't give a [expletive] what conference they play in.

They've also combined for three BCS bowl appearances (Notre Dame has four).

I can't wait for the GIF of Barrett Jones pushing McCarron. That was glorious.

Amazing. Up 28. You haven't been sacked or even hit all night. Where do you get off?

McCarron is JAG. He's lucky he gets to play with arguably one of the best o-lines in college football history and a massive amount of talented skill players. He should never talk.

You might want to do some research

I suggest starting by asking Bum about Purdue.

Or counting Minnesota and Illinois championships

Well, I know Illinois claims 3 or 4 that are claimed by a whole bunch of other schools...so, I guess we can count those.

Sure, that's possible. But I find it pretty unlikely.

I'm impressed you didn't find a way to mention UC Davis's lack of BCS appearances.

Alabama could probably beat some NFL teams.

No. That is a statement of fiction. They'd struggle to score 1 touchdown against any NFL team.

You too?

Men's basketball national championships:

UC Davis: 1

Notre Dame: 0

Great year. Really excited for next year. Hope someone can play MLB but lots coming back everywhere else.

I think Carlo comes back for a 5th year and plays in the middle...not crazy about it, but I think that's what happens...Jaylon will immediately upgrade the outside backer position, so I don't think we take a huge hit. We just really need our secondary to make strides. Slaughter may be coming back and, if healthy, it helps a lot.

You think 8 wins is more likely?

No. I just don't think it's pretty unlikely Notre Dame wins 8 games next year. They're more likely to have 9-10 wins but all it takes is one off day or an opponent playing the game of it's life away from 8 wins and no BCS game. This year, they were on the other side of the coin (and they could be next year also). Bama was a couple plays away from losing the LSU and Georgia games this year. If one of those goes the other way, they're not playing today.

Fox and Grace in the middle. Smith and Anzalone will be in the rotation outside and inside but I don't think either starts. I do want Carlo back for depth. Only KLM, Motta and the most decorated player ever come off the defense so that will be fun.

@RealSkipBayless

Who knows how a team will perform after 44 days off? But NO WAY Irish should be 10-pt dog. ND's D too good, Bama's too vulnerable.

Skip picked ND to win. LOL

So you both agree. Why are you arguing?
