Sounds like BK wasn't too surprised (quote from this morning's SB Tribune):

"I don't know what happened before we got here," he said. "I know what I laid down within the program about expectations and the parameters for all positions, not just quarterback -- left tackle, guard. And I'm going to recruit somebody to beat you out. And they know that coming in.

"So if you're a quarterback and you don't think I'm going to bring in Malik Zaire to beat you out, then you need to transfer. I do it in the right way. I'm not saying it's a callous, cold way of doing it, but my job is to continue to bring in the best fits for Notre Dame, both on and off the field. So if you're a bit uneasy about the situation, then I welcome your transfer.

"I've done it since I've been at Grand Valley (State) that way -- try to continue that competition within the ranks, because the guys that crack are the ones you want to crack. I can tell you if the program's humming and it's doing it the right way, you're going to have some transfers, because you're building competition within the ranks. "And it's always going to be that way."

Ku got an early verbal from 4* RB Traevohn Wrench. Can't wait for OU or OSU to swoop in and flip him at the last second.

Did they lose a lot of recruits last year? That happened to Weis at ND, but I thought he may have learned that a verbal doesn't mean you can stop talking to a recruit.

He actually recruited incredibly well at ND. Didn't develop non-QBs terribly well, but his recruiting was great. I could see KU seeing a definite bump in recruiting rankings.

No, we only lost one guy last year. I was really referencing the fact that every highly touted kid from Kansas seems to leave the state, many for OU. Can't really blame them, though. Hopefully we can hold on to this one.

I was pretty wowed by his recruiting this year, especially considering we were a one-win team.

Good luck. He's in a tough spot behind a guy with 3 years left. If these rumored destinations are accurate, yikes:

Ball State, Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois and Cincinnati.

[expletive], if he goes to Ball State then IU will never beat them....

We can't freaking beat them anyways so what difference does it make. :? lol

So this stupid NCAA 2014 video game cover vote between Michigan & Texas A&M is getting ridiculous and I'm sure no one outside the two schools even gives a [expletive]. Michigan is accusing us of cheating because we made a big surge in the past 24 hours and took the lead. A&M accusing Michigan of cheating to get such a big lead in the first place. It's amazing to see adults getting all worked up over this. Sure it would be cool to have our guy on the cover of the game but it's not worth losing any sleep over.

TexAgs is notorious for going nuts over online polls with voting bots and the like. I remember reading about some poll(maybe for Gameday?) there a couple years ago and it was mind-blowing the effort people were putting into it.

Yeah, it's incredible how much they care about that [expletive].

Ryan Swope will probably be a 2nd round draft pick at WR after a great combine showing. He had a couple of huge catches in the Alabama game. Was 1st team All Big 12 last year and 2nd team All SEC this year due to a slow start. Obviously they would want Manziel on the cover but current student athletes aren't eligible. And despite Luke Joeckel being the possible #1 overall pick I doubt EA Sports was excited about putting a left tackle on the cover.

Ryan Swope shouldn't be on the cover of a college football video game.

Especially when Denard Robinson is an option.

EA issues a statement via Twitter:

"We are aware of the voting irregularities around the  # NCAACoverVote. We are in touch with the schools involved in the final round voting and in the spirit of integrity and fair play, are in agreement that only votes from legitimate accounts will be counted in the vote."

Honestly, who gives a [expletive].

Denard Robinson wasn't even the starting QB at the end of the season, was he?

He was injured. What does that have to do with anything?

He was injured yet still played, right?

You know the answers to these questions. Or you can easily find them.

Denard Robinson couldn't even get an Honorable Mention for All-Big 10 yet he deserves it more than Swope?

Must be because of the injuries. Let's look at 2011 then. Oh there he is in the honorable mention section. He must be one hell of a QB.

Are you being serious right now? Denard Robinson is a much, much, much more recognizable player, and that is really what this is about. It's a [expletive] video game cover.

Anyone spending more than five minutes thinking about this seriously needs to examine their priorities.

Posted
He's recognizable because he had a few good games last year and he doesn't tie his shoelaces, so ESPN fell in love with him for a short time.
