There were several self-pitying jokes among the ND fanbase in January that the Irish could still claim a national title by Alabama standards, since they claim the 1973 title that ND took from them in the Orange (?) Bowl.

5* RB Jalen Hurd committed to Tennessee today. I was happy but unconvinced early on in this recruiting process when Butch got commits from Vic Wharton, Todd Kelly and Neiko Creamer because, while they're good players (especially Kelly), all are legacies and were easier to convince to commit.

 

Other than being an in-state guy, though, Hurd doesn't have a prior connection to Tennessee. This is the first really hopeful sign I've seen from Butch - hopefully there will be more soon.

I'm sure there are some truths to the story (spice use among them, Chizik being a dumbass), but as I've done with the numerous other stories over the past few years, I'll wait and see what happens.
