I was a full time student at a very small Christian school several years ago. It was a program designed for working adults and was mostly online. Only had to be on campus every other Thursday night. I also actually went to a regular class on campus every Tues and Thurs. Anyway, I was not really working at the time and was wondering if I could play on the basketball team. I didn't really want to play as much as I was interested in practicing to help stay in shape. I exercise much better with a purpose. School said no. Though I think they may have been concerned about liability with me being in my 40s. But the excuse given was that BB was only for full time on campus students.

You should've won the Naismith the year before. That's where you messed up.

Most major D1 universities probably wouldn't allow/offer a student to be in only online classes for a 4 year degree, probably would have to have physical classroom classes at some point (especially for classes in your specific major). But most, if not all, probably have the ability to allow students to at least have a few semesters completely online if they scheduled correctly. I'm guessing when he would be required to have physical classroom classes he'd schedule them in the summer when campus would be less crowded and he'd be a lesser distraction.

I'm sure he's not even thinking about his major or getting a degree. He's just trying to remain barely eligible in order to play this season and then he thinks he will probably go pro. Not bothering with school and just having tutors write papers for him in online classes gives him that much more time to train.

He's a sophomore academically so I'm sure he's only taking lower level classes. Once you get into the upper level classes in your major I would imagine that you would not be able to take classes online.

Dude's going to be the #1 overall pick, the classes aren't important.

Pretty doubtful at this point.

He's trolling Old Style.

More info from the Bama players that got in trouble...

The ringleader, or the “hitman” if you prefer, was one of the brightest rising football stars in the country, a five-star defensive back out of Panama City’s Arnold High School named Eddie Williams. The night before the separate attacks, Williams had been arrested for carrying a pistol without a permit following a ruckus at a convenience store.

Both victims – also students at the university -- were brutally beaten and both were left unconscious in the early hours of Monday, Feb. 11, but – according to the police reports – reserve linebackers D.J. Pettway and Tyler Hayes took part in the first attack but then only stood and watched as Williams beat the second victim by himself. Running back Brent Calloway, who was previously arrested for marijuana possession in October 2011, was booked last week for the fraudulent use of a credit card.

One prominent Auburn fan -- basketball's outspoken Charles Barkley -- couldn't resist taking a dig at Alabama during his "Inside the NBA" television show on Thursday night. Barkley appeared with his head bandaged and when asked about it, he replied, “Being the Auburn guy that I am, I wanted to be first class. I went down to the University of Alabama to congratulate the Crimson Tide on winning a BCS Championship and I got mugged. I got mugged in Tuscaloosa, Ernie, and my credit cards are missing.”

Tennessee's best coach and recruiter, Jay Graham, just left UT for Florida State. Seminoles are getting a terrific coach and the hits just keep coming for the Vols.

Hopefully the bottom falls out of this thing quick so that they'll replace Jimmy Cheek with somebody who puts an emphasis on winning football games.

Good luck. He's in a tough spot behind a guy with 3 years left. If these rumored destinations are accurate, yikes:

Ball State, Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois and Cincinnati.

[expletive], if he goes to Ball State then IU will never beat them....
