I would think this topic deserves its own thread...oh well.

I locked your thread since the topic had been discussed for about a dozen posts already by the time you posted the link. Had a new thread come first it would've stood on it's own. I would think that if someone was looking for that particular discussion, that they might at least check the active thread for that day, but maybe that's not how others browse.

Insanely awesome. Imagine getting to see Soler, Almora, Vogelbig, and others for like 10-12 bucks a ticket. Can't wait.

I highly doubt Soler is going to start at Peoria/Kane County next year.

Yep, especially if he goes to the AFL and when you factor in April weather. If he has a lot of success in the AFL, I'd think he has more of a shot to start at Tennessee than Peoria. Actually, that's going a little too far considering how hitter friendly the AFL is, but yeah, he's not starting in Peoria.

As others mentioned, the discussion of the possible move to Kane County will long outlive the context of the minor league box scores today and a seperate thread seems apppropriate.

I don't browse that way - I only found this thread due to the link from the locked thread.

I'll split the thread after work. It's a pain in the ass splitting from a phone.

That should take care of it.

You're fast. I had marked the posts on page one and when I went to page two, it was gone!

I'm glad to see this will be helpful for so many of you. Although it does seem to me that Peoria has usually been one of the most barren levels for prospects year after year. This year has been one of the better years, and still it hasn't had the volume of good prospects that other levels have had.

Oh I hope this happens! That is only a 40 minute drive for me, the tickets will be so much cheaper for me and the family, and the talent will probably be better next year!

Please make this happen!

Next they need to move the AAA affiliate to Indianapolis.... that's a couple hours closer than Des Moines.

This is devastating news. This has been the saving grace with the Cubs being horrible. At least I'd be able to watch the influx of new prospects and I was looking forward to that. But now I'm done. This latest kick to the balls is going to take awhile to recover from. I won't be supporting the Cubs again until they show me they are worth supporting again. And that means a serious run in the playoffs.

I get that; it strikes me as odd to not follow the team at all because of it. I would be like, I don't know, deciding to not follow the Cubs when they stop showing games on WGN.

Yeah I wouldn't agree with the stance either. I find it funny though that the cubs were saying attendance is way down since 08, yeah maybe that's because 08 had a huge spike because of Ryne Sandberg?

Well this sucks. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching Baez and Soler this summer. And I was looking forward watching Almora and others come through as well. Damn!

Don't forget...Boise needs to move to Milwaukie.

Milwaukie,Oregon, that is.

The Yakima Bears are moving into a new stadium in Hilsboro next year, and according to BA, their contract is up with the Diamondbacks. In fact, everyone is up for grabs except Vancouver and Everett.

Without knowing the distance whatsoever from one to the other, is it possible to go to a day game at Wrigley and then catch the entire game in Kane County in the evening?

They're about 40-50 miles apart, so I'd say yes even with bad traffic.

Even with awful Cubs traffic, you could easily do it.

Kane County's home games mostly start at 6:30, and most Wrigley day games are 1:20 starts. Considering a 3 hour game and the route you'd have to take during rush hour, it would probably be a close call to make it to your seat for 1st pitch in Kane County. A better bet would probably be to match one of the rare Kane County weekday games(like their labor day game against Peoria) with a Wrigley night game.

I don't give a [expletive]. They both come to Cedar Rapids.

Yeah the Kernels agreement expires this year and they want to get away from the Angels and ideally get a midwestern parent club. Damn.
