To my complete lack of surprise, Louisville's guards apparently have gone right back to their norm of not being good at shooting after shredding ND last night.

This Louisville-Syracuse game is ridiculous.

Saw players tonight at hotel in Chicago. Both before game, and after at Renaissance.

An overall good time.

I caught Barry for a minute. He was in a good mood.

It's worth noting that except for the ND game they dominated for 39 minutes, Louisville hasn't lost since January.

ISU band chanted "Sosa," the name of Jamari Traylor's recently deceased puppy, while Traylor shot free throws yesterday.

Hold up.

I'll take any chance I get to make fun of ISU, especially their band members. But why does anyone know the name of KU's 8th man's dog, not to mention whether he died or not?

Well Traylor tweeted that he was sad because his dog Sosa died, so that info wasn't hard to come by.

And who wouldn't follow KU's 8th man on twitter?

Especially when his tweets going back over the past week plus are as riveting as this:

look ku is the victim. they have a long history of being bullied and cheated throughout their run of eleven million conference titles. take today for instance...didn't get their first foul called against them until 16 minutes into the game. VICTIMS i tell ya.

I guess they started with it at the last game in Ames and continued with it in the big 12 Tourney.

I'm not sure why this is so hard for you to believe. Someone probably pulled up some KU players' twitter handles looking for some smack talk inspiration, saw the dog stuff, and ran with it.

I hate losing to this [expletive] team.

Me too. But IU is pretty much clueless in physical half court games. It's why the second/third NCAA Tournament games concern me (maybe moreso than playing some other top-tier teams).

It's not the players. It's Crean. This team has all the pieces you look for in a half court offense. 7-footer in the middle, inside/outside combo big that's a matchup problem, one of the best shooters in the country, the most athletic player in the country on the wing, a high basketball IQ, pass-first PG and a versatile slasher off the bench.

There's need to be more running Hulls off screens. More high/lows with Watford and Zeller. More pick and rolls. And for God's sake scrap the damn zone defense.

Agreed. And I expect this to be a continuing problem (it may be way, way worse next year). Crean's system and recruiting style are geared towards up-tempo finesse, which can be difficult in the Big Ten (at some point, IU could really use a bruiser inside). Under Crean, I could envision IU developing into sort of being the anti-Wisconson, in that they're better out of conference than in.

If Weber lasts four more seasons at K-State, how many wins will his teams get against KU?

Well since this is probably the worst team Self has had there and this will be the best team Bubbles has, what do you think? Bruce needs to have a funeral or talk about how he,"kicked Self's butt" to the press a few times.

My answer zero. Self hates him and will always be up for him.

Be honest, I know Crean has really turned you back in the right direction, but don't yo wish you could get Stevens to get back over the hump? I know Stevens at IU would scare the crap out of me.

I'll say one. This will be the highest seeded team Weber has at KSU though.

This is probably the right pick, but I'm still going zero.

What do you mean by "back over the hump"? If u mean a national title, I think they can win it this year with Crean. But yeah Stevens is amazing, I'll take him over most of the world as coach.

I mean title. I don't think you can get there under Crean. Too many games I've seen this year where he does things to beat your team. I'm probably wrong though.

Sure, today I would take Stevens. Who wouldn't? I wish he was coaching this year's team. If he was, I'd be pretty confident IU would win the title (as confident as you can be with these things).

That said, it's counter factual from "today." Crean did a really great job restoring the program, and who knows how another coach, including Stevens, would have done. Quite a few opposing programs/fans were all but writing IU's obituary as a national player. Crean will always be owed a debt for that. I know you'll say that "IU recruits itself" but it sure didn't for about fifteen years prior to Crean. Crean is recruiting at a very high level, and IU is going to be consistently nationally competitive under Crean.

I've said on here several times Crean has done an amazing job turning you around. I just don't think he's the guy to finish it off with a title.
