Interesting seeding there.

Arizona a 4-loss, 4 seed? Michigan and IU with the same record but IU gets the 1 seed. Butler as a 13-seed is probably a crime too.

Arizona losing 4 games in a terrible Pac 12 would drop them quickly. IU wins the Big Ten outright to get a 1 seed, with Michigan a 2 behind Louisville/Florida/Duke/Kansas. Butler is actually projected to lose 5 of their next 7 to start 2-5 in the A-10.

For whatever reason, Pomeroy's formula has some weird infatuation with Wisconsin. He basically admitted such last year and it's less of a curiosity and more of a expectancy at this point. Though I am glad we're to the point where we can call an overrated spade an overrated spade.

At its basic level, Pomeroy's formula takes margin of victory into account, and Wisconsin has a habit of absolutely destroying bad teams. Coupled with their preseason projection based on playing time progression from last year (which put them in the top 10 initially), the overall ranking is going to be hard to adjust without Wisconsin being absolutely terrible this year in conference. Problem is, the formula works really well for the remainder of the non-Wisconsin crowd, so it's a difficult thing to tweak just to try to "fix" one outlier.

It's really strange that they are so consistently the outlier though. Even in a constant system like they've got, you would think that things would change over the years with players and abilities moving in and out of the program.

Interesting game in West Lafayette tonight. Both teams coming off large road losses.

It will be interesting to see who guards Deshaun Thomas, probably Lawson. I'm expecting Craft on Terone Johnson so Byrd and Hammons are going to have to score. The line is OSU -7.5 but you could sell me on Purdue winning a tight one or Purdue getting blown out. Tough to say with a young team. It's the first game with students back on campus as well.

Since there's not as much to celebrate this year with UK as previous years, although UK has played much better of late and ranked 9th in the Pomeroy rankings.

UK has landed the #1 C prospect for 2013 with Dakari Johnson and the #3 overall prospect for 2014 with Karl Towns Jr.

That goes nicely with the #1 ranked PG and SG for the '13 class as well as James Young the #2 rated SG and 6th overall prospect.

Hopefully Derek Willis never gets off the bench.

Assuming Noel, CS, and Polythress go pro, he'll see some minutes out there.

Yeah, it went pretty much exactly as the linesmakers/computers expected. I thought it would be a tad closer down the stretch.

Another big one in Champaign tonight. Minnesota (-1.5) comes to town and Illinois is going to have to keep there physical mentality going from last game if they want to rebound with these guys. I want to say Illinois wins this game at home, but coming off a huge win and against a terrible matchup I will say they drop this one and Minnesota goes to 3-0 in conference.

Hammons is making some poor decisions on defense and fouling too much. He's fouled 4 times each in his first three B1G games limiting his minutes. He's scored 33 in his last two games though. I couldn't believe how many bunny layups we missed last night, Purdue should've covered. To credit OSU every time we would get something going they would hit a big shot, one after another.

Minny/Illinois should be a good one. It's Pomeroy's highest rated 'FanMatch' game of the day.

You're still in on wiggins and randle too. Best recruiting stretch ever.

Add those two and it becomes right there with the Fab 5 for one of the best ever. I think Wiggins will go to FSU and UK is still likely for Randle.
