The Giants didn't allow a single run in a three game sweep of the Dodgers.

They're dropping like a rock, SF has tied them in the standings and I wouldn't be surprised if they're in 3rd place in a couple weeks. Kemp better get back soon.

Madison Bumgarner with a no-no through five against the Reds.

And the first batter of the sixth breaks it up.

The Giants pitching staff hasn't allowed a run in 32 innings.

It's now 36 straight innings after Bumgarner threw a one-hit shutout. The lone hit was that Hanigan single to start the sixth. They haven't allowed a run since Derek Norris hit a walkoff three-run shot for Oakland on Sunday.

The AL record is five straight shutouts (done by Baltimore in 1974 and 1995) and six in the NL (1903 Pirates).

Aaron Hill just hit for the cycle. That's his second time. This month.

MLB network saddles the fourth guy to do it twice in one month. That cant be right, can it?

I'm watching the Brewers broadcast and they said its the first guy to do it twice in a Season since the 30's. It's gotta be the first time in the modern era.

Yeah, i'd say at most only 4 guys hit for the cycle in a year. So to have the same guy do it twice in a year, 4 times, seems really crazy. So they must be counting more than modern era for that.

Jay Bruce just made a really bizarre defensive miscue to lose the game for the Reds. He was drifting back on what looked like a fairly routine fly ball and when he got to the edge of the warning track dirt, for some reason he thought he was about to hit the wall and jumped and missed the ball. If he had just kept drifting back he would have caught the ball easily with room to spare.

Yeah that was bad.

Their 3rd base coach put up a terrible stop sign in the top of the 9th also with the game tied. The Reds then left the bases loaded after having zero outs.
