Casting vote for robot umpires...YER OUT...wait you don't have the ball, my bad.

This was, by far, the best part of that play.

i actually didn't have any problem with the ump on that play

i'm not sure it's reasonable to expect him to follow the ball into his mitt, knowing he's going to snap tag the guy immediately thereafter, and get the tag call correct too

he got the tag call right, and immediately reversed it when he realized he didn't have the ball

Yeah, I'm not sure you can reasonably expect the ump to get the call right if you want him to follow the ball too. That said, it was pretty funny to see him calling the runner out, have the runner start arguing, then the catcher sprints off to the backstop and the ump reverses the call.

Teixeria just lost his bat on a wild swing, and guess who caught it? Spike Lee. That was great.

it's amazing how hard he is to hit despite throwing so many fastballs. according to fangraphs, only 1 out of every 8 pitches from him is a breaking ball.

Any reason why the Brewers refuse to put K Rod in the closers role instead of alwoing Axford to blow every other save? K Rod's had a hell of a lot more success in the role than Axford, and they should be trying to build his trade value.

They named K-Rod the closer today, he's pitching in the 9th right now against the Cardinals. Up 3-2 Cards have runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out....

Was that last night? I could have sworn I saw a few innings of that with a different announcing crew than either CWS or BOS broadcast on MLBN. Do they send their own crew to do those games?

I caught a little of that game too. I think I remember Vasgersian being in the booth.

Watching the White Sox game whilst waiting for the Cubs to start. They were discussing the Tigers using Jacob Turner as a trade chip for veteran pitching and Hawk says that at some point, The Tigers have to stop trading away their young players. Really Hawk? Even Kenny Williams must have had a good laugh at that.

did anyone just see that mike trout triple? dude is not human.

I'm not sure if he's still eligible for rookie status, but if so he has a very real chance of winning ROY & MVP. I think Cano and Cabrera would be the main guys standing in his way. He's already at a 6.0 WAR, and he didn't get called up until a month into the season, I believe.

He's still considered a rookie this year. He only came up for a realy brief time last year and didn't go over the games played/plate appearances/time on the active roster threshold but he struggled so they sent him down (plus I think he came up more to fill in for an injury and then that guy came back or they brought someone else in). Clearly he has the ROY won already and I'd say he has a very good chance of winning the MVP if he continues producing around this level and they Angels win the division.
