That Ochocinco is a pretty good dude

Chad Ochocinco can be annoying, and his wedding proposal was the saddest of all time. But there’s no criticizing what he did here, which is just incredibly sweet.

He’s getting married to Evelyn Lozada tomorrow, on July 4th, and, due to his generosity, a grieving widow will be there to watch.

The woman, Cheryl Minton, recently lost her husband of 30 years and turned to Ochocinco to lift her spirits. He didn’t disappoint.

@ochocinco

You have a passport? RT @cheryl2958: I'm feeling pretty low today. Lost my hubby 2 weeks ago. Together 30 years. Very hard.

@ochocinco

Can you pack and come to the wedding? RT @cheryl2958: @ochocinco Yes I do.

@ochocinco

Check ya DM... Just start packing... Evelyn will make arrangements... see you tonight/early a.m. RT @cheryl2958: Yes.where is it?

@ochocinco o. Ok. I'm flabbergasted! I love you!

For as much crap as he takes, Ochocinco has always seemed like a good guy. And in typical Ocho fashion, he did this all via Twitter.

Way to go, Chad.

Brees signed. 5 years, $100mil, $60mil guaranteed.

The Saints needed something positive.

EDIT: He gets $40mil the first year.

i have no idea why it took that long.

Some people I know were in genuine freak out mode terrified at losing Brees, which is quite comical because there wasn't any way they weren't going to sign him. That city would burn to the ground if they let Breesus walk.

Are there any examples of a super elite franchise QB not getting resigned in his prime?

He was franchised anyway.

Apparently, technically, Rex Grossman is Rex Grossman III, and the Redskin coaches are jokingly calling him RG3.

LOL. That's funny. Having met his dad, I knew he was a named after his dad, but didn't realize his grandfather also had the same name.

Wasn't his grandfather the one who played in the NFL?

Yes, didn't realize his name was "Rex" though.

Ray Rice beat the clock.

5yr/40mil with $25mil in the first 2 years.

Those front loaded deals are a terrible idea for teams. They end up in a position like the Jets are in with Revis, where he's talking about sitting out again cuz he wants a raise, since the high paying years are behind him.

Dwayne Bowe, Cliff Avril, and Dashon Goldson all missed the deadline.

Kudos to the person who mentioned calling in DirecTV to get price reductions on Sunday Ticket. I called in to complain about a price increase and not getting Comedy Central and got $20/month knocked off for the next 12 months plus free NFL Sunday Ticket (I didn't even mention Sunday Ticket and they offered). Plus Michael, the guy at DirecTV who fielded my call, told me he thinks the Bears will go to the Super Bowl if Brandon Marshall stays out of trouble.

Damn, Dez Bryant, you cold.

Rebecca Lopez@rlopezwfaa

Desoto police say Dez bryant assaulted his mother. Slapped her across the face and pulled her hair.

EDIT: Holy crap on a stick

Police say Dez Bryant assaulted his mother by slapping her across the face and pulling her hair.

Angela Bryant did not need to be taken to the hospital, but she did tell police she had pain and swelling as a result of the injuries. Dez has been booked on Class A family violence charge. Since it's his first official arrest -- and not a felony -- it's unclear if a suspension is looming. Dez's mother became a hot topic around the 2010 draft when Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland asked the talented prospect if his mother was a prostitute. She also spent 18 months in jail during Dez's childhood for selling crack cocaine.

Huh, so apparently if you get Sunday Ticket, you don't get redzone unless you get the "Max" package. Not that I was getting it anyway, but I don't remember that info being as well publicized when the price changed.

It wasn't, I only found out about it on the DirecTV website. I'm only really going to use it for Carolina games, so it's not that big a deal to me, but I will miss RedZone. Not worth an extra 100 bucks though.

That's a little bit of a letdown.

I switched to DirecTV a couple of months ago, so I was able to get Sunday Ticket for free this year. I think that's worth the trade-off of no RedZone this season.

I just wish you could get Redzone on it's own. But I understand how that would be a deterrent to sales of the rest of the Sunday Ticket package.

he was maybe our best cover corner

we're going to be pathetically bad on defense

Your d line is still good. The back end of the defense is gonna be vulnerable.

Lions release Aaron Berry after his 2nd arrest of the offseason.

Would he be worth the headaches he causes off the field if the Packers picked him up for their secondary?

There's a better chance that the Packers sign me than signing someone who's been arrested twice in the same offseason.
