I think the key to Davis is having the right players in his system. With thay he can be successful. I don't think he is great at making adjustments and still have occasional nightmares of seeing 10+ WR screens in a game. I question if the success was more do to 7 seasons of Vince Young and Colt McCoy than what he did.

Curious to see him in the Big 10.

Not coaching related, but the NCAA will move kickoffs to the 35 yard line, NFL style next year.

Pointless, most college kickers can't get touchbacks from the 35 anyway.

The biggest change for safety is that now the kicking team can only have a 5 yard running start. The move to the 35 just helps the kicking team compensate for that change.

They're also requiring players who lose their helmet to come out of the game for 1 play.

Bill O'Brien isn't going to sit around waiting for Hackenberg to get on campus.. Nice to have Danny O'Brien transfer in for the next 2 years.

Not sure which CFB thread to put this. MSU and Oregon are doing a home/home in 14/15. Which is no big deal, but while looking at the schedule for those seasons I noticed that MSU and ND still do not have games scheduled. I also noticed that they do not have any open dates on the same weekends. I do not follow scheduling that much. So I was wondering is this traditional rivalry coming to an end? Is there issues with getting a new agreement in place?

They are taking a break from the series in those years, I believe. It's not ending that I know of.

This would be the college footballiest solution I've ever heard. So there's a 4 team playoff. Unless the Big 10 or Pac-12 champs are in the Top 4. In that case they stay in the Rose Bowl and other teams fill out the two semi-final games, and then you just pick among those 3 games to see who plays for the national title. Is Jim Delany the Larry Lucchino of college athletics or something?

Where's the thread on Petrino? Deadspin poster had the best line about that:

"She's seems like a first class lady. What is she doing riding coach?"

EDIT: I see this is the thread. We should really give this man a ton of credit. He's a nasty, ugly, football coach who snared a hot blonde and was ballsy enough to ride around with her on his motorcycle.

And he was dumb enough to hire her and make him her direct superior the week before.
