Please find a way Rangers. Please, if I have to see one more stupid squirrel thing.

Just don't watch tonight. There's no way the Cardinals are losing.

so then what are you doing on here? quit being a [expletive] and go put all your life's savings on the Cards winning tonight

Careful. Making predictions on who's going to win baseball games (other than the Cubs) pisses people right the [expletive] off 'round these parts.

^^^ Case in point.

After seeing the Cardinals claw back like that twice last night, its hard to envision them losing tonight. How in the he'll did that Hamilton homer not crush them?

As much as I hate them, I do say I admire them clawing back not once but twice last night. That was an impressive effort.

HEY GUYS WHAT'S GONG ON. THE WHOLE THEO THING, HUH? PRETTY COOL, YOU GUYS. EXCITING STUFF. WELP, SEE YOU LATER.

It seems all Cardinal fans feel the need to try and slam cub fans more than just enjoy their world series runs. Sad group of people.

This describes my entire office, and the STL area in general. It just doesnt make any sense. Are White Sox fans like this?

Yes

Because the Rangers made bad decisions, played sloppily and too many of the relievers pitched like [expletive].

Luckily the cardinals played a flawless game so they could overcome all of that.......

Never said they did. They just didn't make the same or worse mistakes at the wrong times like the Rangers did.

The Rangers had this game in hand multiple times and they fucked it up. The rain-out had zero to do with it. The just played and were managed too poorly when it counted.

In my opinion the rainout helped the Cardinals more than the Rangers. TLR has gone to the pen early more often than not this postseason. Carpenter wouldn't have been able to start a Game 7. The Rangers have not made any changes to their pitching plans based on the rainout. I don't believe in curses or that Divine intervention occurs in professional sports, but the culmination of everything the last 6 weeks or so definitely makes it APPEAR that way.

Step back for a second and realize the rain-out didn't do a damn thing to help them win last night's game.

I thought

APPEAR
was major indication of how I feel about curses, etc.

Also, everything I said has to do with their increased chances of winning tonight because of the extra day...

On a side note, I wonder what the all time playoff record is in game 7 for teams that go into game 6 with a 3-2 series lead and lose

Well not the best news after I looked it up. Since 1979, teams that go into game 6 up 3-2 and LOSE, are 1-8 in game 7's. Anyone triva buffs remember who got the only W?

The good news is, in all World Series since the beginning, the game 6 loser is 17-18 in game 7. Here is a breakdown by year:

1979-2011: 1-8

1955-1978: 11-3

1901-1954: 5-7

If you include all MLB game 7's (including the LCS), the loser of game 6 is 22-27 in game 7's, and 6-17 since 1979. Breakdown of the LCS:

Overall 5-9

ALCS 2-4

NLCS 3-5

But to get to tonight they had to win last night, and the rain-out apparently had next to nothing to do with helping the Cardinals accomplishing that or giving them more of a shot of doing so.

The thought was definitely out there that the only reason the Cards pushed so hard to get game six postponed was that they would have Carp available for game seven if they could get it there.

Yep, everybody in my office was way more interested in trash talking to me than being celebratory about the win. The only thing I've said is how great the game was and how unfortunate it was the Rangers didn't win. If I was half the douche about it that most of these people tend to be, I'd get stoned in the streets for it. I didn't hate the Cardinals 10 years ago nearly as much as I do now after living down here amongst their fans and their idiocy.

That's not what I'm talking about.

Maybe I've just been lucky, but I've found that most people will give up if you don't play along. I have no interest in talking baseball with random people I know. If they try, I just smile and give vague platitudes before steering the conversation somewhere else. I live in Cardinals territory and don't really have much of a problem.

Yup. If you don't act the meatball then meatballs have nothing.

sure it didn't help last night, but they still used the fake rain out to increase their chances of winning the world series.

White Sox fans are worse. At least the Cardinals are a division rival

You are right abotu that being one of the times, but I said the losing game 6 team was 1-8 since 1979, so it has to be a team from 1979 or later.

Here are the nine 7 game series during that time:

-1979: Pirates over Orioles

-1982: Cardinals over Brewers

-1985: Royals over Cardinals

-1986: Mets over Red Sox

-1987: Twins over Cardinals

-1991: Twins over Braves

-1997: Marlins over Indians

-2001: Diamondbacks over Yankees

-2002: Angels over Giants

Yes, only the Cardinals could come back under such circumstance.

I mean, WTF do you guys think happens in the [expletive] world series? Oh [expletive], we're down 2 runs, let's pack it in fellas.

I'm really trying not to be an [expletive] to my friends, especially my roommate, but I'm over it. If the Rangers somehow prevent this abomination from occurring, I'm flying my W flag and blasting "Go Cubs Go" out my window for a month.

Fake rain outs and conspiracy theories? Get a grip guys.

Not so much a fake rain out as taking advantage of a mediocre weather situation to get their ace on the mound an extra time.
