I gotta say despite the awful baseball played by the Cubs (I was happy to see one win), this park never gets old. This was my 4th trip to PNC and it's amazing what a contending baseball team can do to a city. I've never seen more Pirates fans pack the place... it's usually about 50/50 with Cubs fans. Anyway, if you get the chance to check it out, do so. Here are some pics I snapped.

PNC is easily my favorite stadium outside of Wrigley.

I was there Friday and Saturday. The park is beautiful and I was pleasantly surprised that the city was nicer than I expected. I stayed at the Spring Hill Marriott which is outside the left field corner and you can see the parking lot in one of the pictures.

Had to be a typical tourist and have a sandwich at Primanti Brothers original location Saturday afternoon. It was worth the 30 minute wait to get in.

They've done a lot of good work to clean up the city. Still not a lot there to brag about, but not much to complain about, either.

Primanti is pretty good if you like your entire meal packed into the sandwich itself.

PNC is outstanding. Outside of the historic parks (Wrigley, Fenway), PNC is at least my co-favorite (along with Pac Bell). I really need to get back to Pittsburgh for a game. As far as the city goes, it's by no means amazing, but it's surprisingly nice and scenic by the river. There are definitely worse cities (including worse cities with MLB teams).

Looks like a beautiful park. If I ever get out to Pittsburgh it's certainly on my "to do" list.

It should be the only reason you go to Pittsburgh.

No doubt -- when I was there a couple years ago I couldn't even find a restaurant open on a Sunday night save for the hotel. Jerome Bettis' restaurant/bar was sorta cool before the game (2-way mirrors out to the restaurant at the bathroom urinals!).

Where?

I've been everywhere except for Seattle, Tampa and Baltimore.....the only cities I can think of with less to do than Pittsburgh are MAYBE Cincinnati and Oakland (but SF is near by).

And if anyone is thinking about going to PNC in the future, I highly recommend their stadium tour. When I went they took us through the whole stadium, onto the field and in the dugout and into the batting cages. I got to see a whole bunch of players showing up for the game during the tour that day.

Major League Baseball features teams in Detroit and Oakland. Enough said.

PNC is easily my favorite MLB park INCLUDING Wrigley. It pains me to go to Wrigley and see how dumpy it is knowing that parks like PNC exist.

PNC is pretty awesome. If the Pirates stay in the race, people will pack that park every night. Pittsburgh fans are pretty die-hard, and have been looking for a reason to go to PNC since the luster wore off. Definitely #2 of the parks I've been too. I like the way Baltimore, Kansas City, and Seattle look on TV, of the places I've never been to.

Camden is very nice, but I haven't been there since 2004.

KC was okay, but I really don't understand why some people rank it near the top of MLB parks. I found it very generic.

Honestly, I prefer Detroit.

Completely ridiculous. Pittsburgh is a terrific city.
