Who's being an internet tough guy? I was just kind of hoping this thread had reached its nadir of crazy Illini ranting, and yet it continues to reach lower.

I just hate when anyone says I'll ignore you, just do it, I mean I don't get why Gould ever threaten it. Pet peeve, not meant as an attack really on you, I enjoy the crap out of your posts.

I would be happy with Stevens, but I have two concerns: pace of play, and recruiting. I think now is a good time for him to leave Butler as his stock is still very high and Crean has resurrected Indiana.

mack is still on my list, after williams, grant, and miller. groce is 34-30 in the MAC at ohio. he's building the program and has improved in the last 2 years, but i'm not gaga. i like marshall, though he's a little old and reminds me of weber for some reason. if theus could bring jabari, i'd give him a shot, but only if it were a sure thing.

 

want one of my top 3, though. i think any number of the next tier would kill for the illini job. i don't want to wait any longer for this program to gain their relevance back, though.

Meh, Jabari is only going to be wherever he is for a year, I'm more concerned about a program builder. Although I'd love to have Parker, hiring someone in the hopes they can lure one player isn't the way to run a program. This hire will be successful if the replacement is more successful than Weber, that means we need a decade of 70% winning percentage, 3 Big Ten titles, and a Final Four. Hire a coach that can bring that type of success back, and not a coach that can bring you one player.

Look at the success those guys had at mid-majors vs. Groce. (Though Smart was really just last year's tourney run. Take that away and he's really unimpressive.
