Well this has been an awesome day. Royce White leaving ISU, Shaka turning down Illinois, Smotrycz leaving Michigan (not as great but still good) and people thinking Burke may leave Michigan.

 

The ginger takeover is nigh.

 

yes, all iowa needs is every good player they face to leave and every team they face to not have a good coach. that is a surefire recipe for a second consecutive NIT berth.

Is Chicago the only city in the country where things like lacking recruiting inroads aren't 99% solved by hiring the right coach? The fixation on it is ridiculous.

 

MSU didn't get a kid out of Detroit for like 15 years. St. John's, NYC. UCLA, LA. It's a big city thing.

the phognet crowd is being really nice and complimentary towards the illini program. one guy suggested that sean miller, according to "Reports" he's seen, is the leading candidate.

 

you wouldn't think that miller makes much sense, but someone posted some of his wife's recent tweets, her allergies appear to be literally killing her. plus her family is in ohio and pittsburgh.

The best thing Illinois has going for it right now is that it's easily the best job available this off-season. When Weber was hired, the Illinois job was only maybe the 4th best job available that off-season (UNC, Kansas, UCLA).

 

Unless Howland is being let go, that is...
