Too bad 3 of the last 4 are on the road, but whatever, its against NW, Illinois and Penn State.

Well that's just the saddest thing I've ever read.

It's almost over.

I've come to terms with it. As long as we beat Iowa.

If we got one left in us that's it.

Indiana didn't play well enough and they could have made it closer if they played better, but I don't think too many teams would have won against Iowa tonight. They were really impressive.

Another upset over Wisconsin and a win over Nebraska, Illinois or Northwestern would give Iowa a .500 record for the season at worst and I'd be happy as hell with that.

This team is damn tough when Basabe shows up and Gatens is hitting shots. That was really fun, I just wish Gatens would have gotten a chance to make it to the Dance in his career. He was just unconscious in the second half.

Wait, IU is playing North Carolina Central this week? What the [expletive]? Even a win probably hurts their RPI. What good can possibly come from it?

The explanation I heard was that since Indiana's Big 10 schedule was so frontloaded, they wanted to put another game in just so they wouldn't get rusty. Without the NC Central game IU would have only had 2 games in a 17 day period.

So, Iowa could realistically finish 5th in the conference. Even if they did they wouldn't be in the tournament (you wouldn't think so at least.) That'd be weird considering the conference strength.

They couldn't find a good team to schedule? Why play a cup cake now?

I don't see too many scenarios where Iowa finishes 5th. Purdue's easy schedule and IU-Purdue still playing each other hurts that considerably. Plus Iowa loses the tiebreaker to Purdue and depending on how the top of the conference shakes out maybe to IU as well.

As for the strength of the conference, part of that is Iowa playing better now, and part of that is they've probably had the easiest conference schedule in the Big 10. Playing Michigan State, Ohio State, and Michigan only one time each (and avoiding road trips with 2 of those) has helped keep the losses down. Of course it hasn't helped them build much of a tournament resume either.

I don't think they will but considering they play 3 teams who are in the bottom half of the standings and Wisconsin at home that they already beat and they are .5 games out of 5th it is possible. Still don't think they would or should get selected should they win out. I just thought it would be a weird scenario.

Damn that was fun. Find a way to get to the NIT. Frustrating thing is with two of the wins they gave away they would be sitting at 16-11, 8-6 and likely finishing at 18-12, 10-8 and squarely on the bubble heading to the BTT.

I really hate Sheehey.

yeah, it means the conference probably isn't that strong.

This just made me remember that we won't get Gus during March Madness this year.
