The Bears have a bunch of 2/3 receivers. I don't see why they won't get a FA WR when they have the cap space and there are some good ones out in free agency.

They need starting help at both OL and WR.

670 radio reporting Bears may pursue Mike Sims-Walker

It was spoken over the radio so no link yet although I'm sure there will be one later today.

Does that help? LOL

It's better than nothing, but not the most exciting name out there. I guess if they don't want to commit to a high priced WR (which is respectable), this would work.

"Best of the Undrafted Free Agent Class" is like being King of Turd Mountain.

lol...yea there's no undrafted success stories out there...like Kurt Warner, or Warren Moon, or Antonio Gates, or Priest Holmes, or Tony Romo, or Jeff Saturday, or Adam Vinateri, or .

I never said there wasn't. There's always diamonds in the rough. But as of right now they don't have much value and you can't be certain they'll even develop into useful players.

Why don't you start up a packers thread and post there instead? :)

Better yet, how about a Packers board.

Sims-Walker would be fine. I think Brad Smith would be a good replacement for Davis (actually he'd be a great replacement. Davis is useless) and Smith could fill in for Manning on returns if they don't want to use Hester for every return.

Heard that Noel Devine didn't sign with the Falcons and that he is still a UDFA... anybody want the Bears to get him like I do?

He'd be a nice change-of-pace to Forte. I'd definitely sign him.

He's definitely another 2/3 but his skills would complement Hester/Knox/Bennett well.

I'm warming to Smith if Manning is indeed gone.

The Vikings have agreed to a 1-year deal with Devin Aromashodu.

Did he just clash with Martz? He had 5 catches in the first game last year then only 5 the rest of the year and couldn't get on the field. I know he's not great but with their WR struggles, I remember hearing fans clammoring for him on WSCR last year.

I certainly remember him going for 7/150 and the game winning TD against the Vikings in that MNF game two years ago.

Yeah didn't mesh with Martz. Also in week 1 he was the number 2 receiver I think and was was thrown to something like 12 times and only caught 2. He ran some routes wrong and dropped a bunch of passes. After that he was burried on the depth chart.

He's an interesting low risk player with medium upside but there's a reason he's been cut by 3-4 teams already.

Anyone want to give me a quick report on Anthony Adams? The Vikings are reportedly pursuing him.

OK at times. Decent DT for the rotation but certainly not special.

Stout vs. the run. Not the biggest, strongest, or fastest DT in the world, but good technique, stays low, does his job. Won't provide very much pass rush, but a great teammate and one of the best locker room guys the Bears have. Not quite Pat Williams in his heyday, but would be a pretty good fit for Vikings.

From chicagobears.com website.... 26 confirmed UDFA signings for the Bears

The group includes 13 defensive players: Tackles Corbin Bryant (Northwestern), Jordan Miller (Southern) and Sean Murnane (Central Michigan); end Mario Addison (Troy); linebackers Tanner Antle (Tulsa), Tressor Baptiste (Texas A&M), Dom DeCicco (Pittsburgh) and Deron Minor (McNeese State); cornerbacks Antareis Bryan (Baylor), Mike Holmes (Syracuse) and Ryan Jones (Northwest Missouri State); and safeties Winston Venable (Boise State) and Anthony Walters (Delaware).

In addition to WR Dane Sanzenbacher (Ohio State), other players on the offensive side of the ball are quarterback Trevor Vittatoe (UTEP); centers J.C. Brignone (Mississippi State) and Alex Linnenkohl (Oregon State); guard Ricky Henry (Nebraska); tackle Josh Davis (Georgia); running back Robert Hughes (Notre Dame); wide receivers, Travis Cobb (Arizona), Kris Adams (UTEP) and Jimmy Young (TCU); and tight ends Kyle Adams (Purdue) and Andre Smith (Virginia Tech).

Punter Spencer Lanning (South Carolina) also agreed to terms.

Isn't that a lot? I mean at least more than usual anyway? I like the idea of inviting/signing as many as you can and hopefully you luck out with a couple of them....

Camp rosters were increased to 90 players. With all their FAs, these 26 only give the Bears 75 players set to come to camp on Friday (not including unsigned draft picks)

Ahhh... I missed that part. Wow... that's a lot.

Noel Devine to Eagles

Because if anything, it's speed that the Eagles lack on offense/Special Teams........

They may have the smallest group of skilled position players in NFL history.

As long as it's ok with you that I start a Packers thread, I'll do it.

Doug Free just got resigned by the Cowboys per Clayton on SC. That's one OL off the board for the Bears, IDK if they were ever interested in him or if it was realistic.

Jerry wasn't going to let him get away. I can't recall a player that Jerry wanted to re-sign that he didn't get the deal done. At least not when it was his top priority.

On a related note, they are saying the Bears may have interest in Roy Williams when the Cowboys finally release him.

It might have to do with the fact that Williams' best season as a pro came with Martz as his OC. Wouldn't be opposed to the Bears signing Williams once he is released.

he's an undrafted free agent, you don't go out looking to fill holes on your team with rookie free agents or ignore players you think might be good because you already have players like them on your roster.
