He's right, but Rosenbloom still manages to make me want to punch him in the face, even when he's right.

Yeah. Kind of surprising to see him take this angle though. I didn't think he would.

And then he makes you want to punch him in the face again.

After arguably the best offensive year the Bears have had in the past decade. Not saying I approve of the 3rd and 3 call or the Collins fiasco either. But still. Mike Tice? Worth a punch in the face.

Heh...yeah...I posted that earlier...Rosenbloom is pretty worthless.

Also he still had one really bad overthrow to Hester in the 1st quarter that ended a drive and would have made it 1st and goal with an accurate pass, so not all can be excused.

If you're talking about the 3rd down pass on I believe the 1st or 2nd drive, the throw was fine. Hester stopped the route and picked it up again too late. Should've been 6.

Looked like that to me too. But I thought even if that was the case, the throw still could have been better and catchable where Hester was.

I thought it ran out of bounds. Didn't Hester leap up as the ball sailed over his head?

From what I saw live and on the big screen, it might have led him out of bounds, but it should have been catchable. I think he reached for it a bit, but it wasn't close. It was out in front of him, not over his head. But he clearly hesitated way too much in the middle of that route bout the time Cutler was releasing the ball.

I just thought of this but when the Shields made that last interception to seal the game, was anyone else thinking, STRIP THE BALL! Second time in 3 Packer playoff games that the Packers caught a game ending interception and had the gall to try to run it back when falling down would have ended the game.

I can think of 3 different time out situations against the Packers in the last two meetings that I'd love to have back again. Lovie calling the time out in the last game of the season that negated a 40 yard pass reception and turned into a sack instead.

The time out that was taken that turned into an interception for a touchdown to the fattest man in football.

The third and 3 play where the snap was taken and a first down looked inevitable, and then the time out brought the ball back to the line of scrimmage so that they could basically run nearly a mirror image of the previous play.

This is really the best we have to offer after taking some extra time to discuss the best options? The alternative would have been better just about every time.

I'm not sure if you are thinking of a different situation or misremembering, but the first TO I remember in game 17 this year was on a 3rd and 11 and was a draw to Chester Taylor, who ran 15 yards for a first down, but was called back due to a timeout.

Misremembering, I guess. 15 yards, 40 yards, both good gainers that I absolutely hate seeing brought back because someone felt like wasting a time out.

Wrong thread

which way to the old information thread?

I did not say that Collins' injury was new news. What I wanted to know is whether Lovie knew Collins was injured and took him out for that reason. Would he have stayed with Collins if Todd wasn't hurt? I didn't think that was discussed. If Lovie would have stuck with Collins and only went to Hanie because he was hurt, that decision is really inexcusable in light of what happened at Carolina.

you presented two pieces of old information as news. you have a certain principal skinner-iness about you.

Old information? The Cutler-steakhouse-stairs news was only reported a few hours before I posted it. No one had commented on Collins' injury as it related to him getting pulled yet. I wasn't aware that I you would get all over me for bringing up an angle about a story that was only a day old. You are just looking for a fight as you usually do.

I saw a story about Cutler going out to that restaurant with Kristin Cavalari after the game in the Monday Red Eye. It wasn't until Tuesday that the subject of taking the stairs was reported.

DID IT MENTION STAIRS?

Can anyone really blame Cutler for avoiding an elevator that could perhaps be full of angry Bears fans/media?

I'm sure there were a bunch of them in the private elevator that went to a private second floor room at a high-end steakhouse.

I bet HBO is begging the Bears to do Hard Knocks next year. a popular team, and so far they have the story that will sadly dominate the offseason. To bad from all indications is its something the Bears front office would never do.

It could be a way to try and rehabilitate Jay's image, but on the other hand the way he is with media it could make it worse.

I want to see Angelo go on the attack against the dumbass fans and media and try to set an example for other sports organizations. The Bears would be in a good position to do it, too, since it's not like they'd lose out on ticket sales or other means of financial support.

I'm curious what more you want him to say than what he already has.
