Marlins fans watch/will watch pressers for Bell, Reyes and Buehrle.

Angels fans watch/will watch pressers for Pujols and Wilson.

We get David DeJesus (nice player and all).

This is SO FAR of course but damn. If it were the Cubs who signed the first two teams players I mentioned, this place would have to shut down due to the amount of people going happy crazy.

the vast majority of the people on this board would have hated all of those signings except cj wilson. a reliever for 27 mil? jose reyes for over 100? pujols for 254? buerhle for almost 60?

stop your whining, those are bad contracts.

I would have not liked Wilson's signing either. The dude is way over hyped.

I'm whining because the Cubs really need good players on good contracts and it doesn't appear like that will be an option because apparently the whole league got rich when we weren't looking.

Thanks again for wasting the 2000s, MacPhail and Hendry. I hate you guys so much.

Do you really believe that?

A lot of Cardinals fans are trashing Pujols and fellating Musial because he stayed and never would have left.

They have no idea what Stan would have done because he never had much of a choice in the matter. Of course now he'll toe the line and say he never would have left, but we'll never know. It's easy to hold these guys up as loyalist heroes when they were essentially held hostage by their employers.

Allegedly Musial once got a ridiculously large offer from the Mexican league and turned it down.

Instead of Pujols putting out a full page ad int St. Louis fish wrapper. The Card fans should put an ad thanking him. He played for well below market value for most of his 10 years there and brought them two WS championships.

They spent all that money throwing So Taguchi a parade.

if we'd had a big SS need, i'd probably have liked Reyes' signing quite a bit

I guess Prince is too oval shaped for many on here. And no! I am not advocating the Cubs give him a 7 year deal.

Pretty sure you are.

Everything about Prince Fielder says he is absolutely worth the money and years. No, not 10 years but 6 or 7, yes. He is a difference maker, a leader and a team player.

On the max end, ok. I would like to have him for 5-6. Again, the market just increased for Prince with the Pujols signing.

but we don't

Thus it is a bad contract because he signed with the Marlins? Uh, ok.

how about you reply to what i said to you instead of piggybacking someone else.

and no, i don't like that contract much, regardless of team.

Too many guaranteed years for a guy who can't stay on the field. If it were a 3-4 year deal with vesting options, maybe I'd have liked it. But as it is? No, I wouldn't have liked it at all.

reyes is a bad contract because his hamstrings are held together by laffy taffy

Yep. If he can't stay healthy in his 20s why would he be able to do so in his 30?

Sure wish there could have been an hour long ESPN special about which team he was going to go to, and then he could give the procedes to charity. Sorry, that's already been done.

Great joke, hardcore.
