Taylor is too similar to Forte which really diminishes his value. Heck, Bell is pretty similar too.

Pisa is out again this week for the 3rd straight week.

Pisa played against Philly.

The article I read said "Pisa out for 3rd straight week" Odd...I guess they meant 2nd time in 3 weeks.

The Jets were non-stop talking about the Super Bowl since last winter, coming off a 9-7 season and without doing anything impressive yet this year. What's wrong with it?

Marinelli was a teacher with a ton of NFL experience. Lovie's original cast of teachers were a bunch of guys with limited college coaching experience.

oh, i'm not saying it inhibits their chances of making the super bowl in any way. i just don't like the idea of everyone talking super bowl because we're 8-3. i haven't really heard much about the super bowl from the wisconsin media regarding the packers, nor have i heard much super bowl talk from packers players.

so the jets are talking super bowl, that doesn't surprise me. rex ryan has a big mouth and isn't afraid to brag a little bit. i'm sure both he and they will be humiliated when the jets inevitably screw things up.

Well, it's not like Pittsburgh stays hush about the Super Bowl, or the people around New England for that matter. It's better than "contend within the division talk".

pittsburgh and new england can pretty much say whatever they want and not sound silly.

everyone's goal should be the super bowl, everyone should say that their goal is to get to the super bowl, not everyone should talk like they're super bowl contenders after they win a some games in a row.

It's one of those things where if they talk about it and succeed, I'll say they're brilliant.

If they talk about it and fall on their faces, I'll say they should have shut up.

The reality is it probably doesn't make much difference.

The reality for me is this:

- If they fall flat on their faces, it won't have anything to do with talking about the Super Bowl.

- If I'm a player on a football team, the goal every year is to win the Super Bowl. 2/3 of the way into the season, if we're still in position to do that? Sure, it'll still be a topic of conversation.

I'd be ok with that. If there isn't an immediate impact OL available in the first, I'd hope they'd go for a WR and then get OL the next 2 or 3 picks. I'd be all over Jonathan Baldwin too, he's a freak.

Just saw the Walter mock draft. If Justin Blackmon goes 2 picks ahead of the Bears and the Bears get Baldwin, it'd just be a repeat of missing out on Ryan Clady and getting Chris Williams.

Agreed. I'm not a big Baldwin fan. Living in Pittsburgh, I have seen a lot of Jonathan Baldwin, even back to HS. I wanted to see this year if he could stand out on a run-heavy team with an inexperienced QB. And I'm just not seeing it. He doesn't demand that ball like a #1 WR should. Not that he should be yelling at his QB and running his mouth to the media, but he's the clear elder statemen of a team with soph and freshman WRs and a soph QB, RBs, and TEs. But at this point in his career, I wanted to watch Pitt on a 3rd and 6 and say, "Ok, they are going to Baldwin here and he will move the chains."

He doesn't get enough seperation from defenders quickly like Fitzgerald. To be 6'5", he isn't really a Calvin Johnson like jump ball threat. To me, he is a giant possession WR. I think you are talking about a guy with more Malcom Floyd upside than Calvin Johnson upside. Floyd has turned into a nice WR, but he's not a 1st round talent. Neither is Baldwin, IMO.

On the other hand, Blackmon reminds me of Anquan Boldin. He won't run in the 4.4s, but he has good size, good hands, is a strong route runner, and is very physical. He's also a possession type WR, but he's going to be a guy that's going to be very good after the catch and will be able to get seperation because of his speed. It would be tough for me to commit to a 1st round WR, but he would be the guy I would go for.

I need to be reassured about this game. I just have a weird feeling that the offense will go back to struggling in the redzone and on 3rd down. It's been almost too good lately. The Lions D was the worst it's been all year against the Pats while the Bears offense was the best it's been all year against the Eagles. I could easily see rebound on the part of the Lions and regression on the part of the Bears.

i don't see receiver as a need, right now, at all.

You're nuts. It's not THE most pressing need, but it's up there.

To be fair, some of the leading passing QBs this year have been throwing the ball to guys like: Seji Ajirotutu, Malcom Floyd, Pierre Garcon, Austin Collie, Jacob Tamme, Brandon Lloyd, Eddie Royal, Deion Branch, Brandon Tate, and Aaron Hernandez. Not exactly a who's who of NFL receivers.

That being said, 3 of those 4 QBs that throw to the guys above are potential HOFs. The other is Kyle Orton and his team's always down 20 so they throw constantly. Teams have shown that if you have a good QB that can put the ball where it needs to go, someone will catch it and move the ball. But I don't think you can let a top talent go if he's sitting there in your lap.

I think the Bears need a certain type of receiver. They have no need for another small, speedy guy. They need someone with size and height.

Agreed. This becomes an elite offense with one or two good OL and a Brandon Marshall/Calvin Johnson type WR.

It's one thing to find their size, but another to find their talent especially late in the draft (assuming they get linemen early).

I would not be surprised if Jerry doesn't go after as many linemen as we wish. Frank is young and they just signed him. Williams isn't going anywhere. Olin is playing better, but you don't usually don't go for centers early on. They will probably try to get at least one more year out of him. Garza just might be the best lineman on the team. And Webb is a rookie and they might want to give him time. Obviously the line is terrible, but I wonder if Jerry will go after a CB first. Or a more serviceable backup QB even thought they need to get one through FA who is a veteran.
