Thank goodness I went to bed at halftime.

As for Boise, I don't think anyone doubts their capability. I'm pretty sure most everyone acknowledges they can go toe to toe with any team in the country. The frustrating thing for me is that people go overboard with how deserving they are because we have a flawed system. Every single team in the Big 10(except Northwestern), Pac-10, SEC, and Big 12 have a better SOS than Boise, and this is their best schedule in years with Hawaii, Fresno, and Nevada all having good years plus Virginia Tech sweeping the ACC. They don't deserve a BCS bowl with a loss.

Northwestern has a harder SOS than Boise State.

Unless you're talking about preseason.

Another reason why they're should be a 16 team playoff with the top 16 ranked teams.

That would never happen. If there was a 16-team playoff, you'd at least see auto bids to the big six conferences if not all 11.

I know it's not going to, but I can dream.

The only fair way to do it would be all 11 conference champions and 5 wild card teams.

What? No that's far from the only fair way to do it.

2 of the 3 computers that easily show schedule strength had Boise with the harder schedule before this weekend. It will likely remain close.

Examples? In my way every conference champion would get a chance (Yes, you'd have 1-16 matchups like Ohio State vs. Troy, but oh well), and you'd have a nice, even bracket. Even a few of the deserving non-conference champion teams would get in. If you limit it to just the BCS conferences and do an 8-team tourney it would still most likely leave out the TCU's and Boise States of the world. Every conference champion should have a shot to win the National Championship, and my proposal allows that. The computers should then only be used for seeding purposes in the playoffs. Each top seed would get at least 1 home game, then for the final 7 games (8 teams left) you could use the 4 BCS Bowl stadiums, and 3 other stadiums on a rotating basis for the final 8 teams. That way contracts with the Rose Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, etc can still be fulfilled.

That's just a proposal I whipped up in 5 minutes. I know it needs a little tweaking, but I think that could be a good starting point.

Michigan makes my soul hurt. 2 trips to the red zone and 0 points to show for it.

Not that we would have won but it would have at least made the game interesting if we had taken a lead.

Now its 10-0 Ohio State and the rout is on.

Roy Roundtree is doing everything he can to make sure we lose today. I could have caught those passes he's dropped today.

I've lost a lot of interest in the college football season after last night's events.

I really wasn't all that interested in Boise State. I understand the excitement but I just never really latched on to it.

Doesn't bother me at all that they lost. I'm kind of surprised that they did -- but I'm not upset by it.

They can play offense, but only until they get into the red zone. They're really not good at any aspect of football.

Yeah, the following teams sure deserve a shot:

Florida International, which got killed by Pitt 44-17 and lost 19-14 to Rutgers, the worst Big East team.

Northern Illinois, which lost to mediocre Iowa State and Illinois and nearly lost to a bad FCS team in North Dakota.

Miami (OH), which lost to Florida 34-12, Missouri 51-13 and Cincinnati (the second-worst team in the Big East 45-3.

Southern Methodist, which lost to Texas Tech, Navy, Houston and UTEP.

UCF, which lost North Carolina State and Kansas State.

And don't use the college basketball argument. Those teams have shown year in and year out the ability to compete with the top teams. Big football upsets are rare and I don't need to see Oregon beat Florida International 63-3 in the first round.

PSU made a game of it (thanks to terrible play by MSU) but couldn't pull it out. Oh well, Texas Bowl, here we come
