Heard a few "Taylor Martinez is quitting the team" rumors today. That would certainly make Friday more interesting.

Even without the division to play for, the Border War is big. Send KU home with a loss, get to 10 wins(and 40 wins for the senior class), and stay on the trail for a Cotton Bowl appearance.

The one downside of A&M beating Nebraska this past weekend is that I think they jump us in the Cotton Bowl's eyes. Out of all five 8+ win teams in the Big 12, we're lowest on the totem pole IMO.

I have to imagine the Cotton Bowl is thinking that aTm fans might not be super jazzed to go back to the same stadium they were playing/losing in 6 weeks ago. Plus OSU was in the Cotton Bowl last year, and the loser of the B12 championship game will be coming off a loss in the same stadium. Honestly, if OU wins the South, I think we've got pretty good odds as a 10 win team. Our record would be just as good as any of the alternatives, we brought a huge crowd to that bowl a couple years ago, and we'd be the only team who hasn't had a recent high profile game in that stadium where fans might not be as willing to make the trip.

with the way NU is playing, they could get beat by CU this weekend, though.

Yeah I know. It'd be quite the miracle if somehow Mizzou pulled out the North.

Go Oregon, Bama and Arkansas (don't want to risk having a 1-loss SEC team jump Boise/TCU). Mainly want to see one of Boise/TCU in the title game and the other get a BCS bowl so they don't have to play each other again.

Here's a factor that may not mean anything, but maybe would: the Cotton Bowl may be reluctant to select either A&M or Arkansas since they've got a series going in JerryWorld for, like, 10 years, thus reducing the novelty of playing there, and possibly the draw.

Auburn and LSU are both 4 point dogs on the road this week against Bama and Arkansas....should be two great SEC games. Oregon and Boise State are both big favorites in both of their games.

..nothing new on the Cam Newton front over the weekend. The author of the tigerdroppings.com posting that most considered so insightful thought that their 'insider information' would come to light by the end of last week. that didn't happen. They were also evidently wrong about the Milton McGregor FBI wiretap containing info about Cam as multiple sources close to the investigation contradicted that on Friday, saying the wiretaps do not link McGregor to Cecil nor Cam. I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic about this unless proof of AU wrong-doing emerges.

I'm still holding out hope for an Oregon-Boise St championship game. Go Boise!

But please...no more orange uni's. Blech.

Tyler Bray looked like a freshman against Vandy, but that may be a good thing. Vanderbilt exposed some of Bray's weaknesses and as poorly as he played, it should keep him grounded entering a tough game against Kentucky. Vandy's defense will also probably be tougher than UK's this weekend, so it was a good test for him. The problem is, Vandy gave UK a gameplan to stop Bray. The good thing is, the coaching staff will have a week to figure out how to overcome that gameplan.

Saturday is a winnable game. I've said all year that this game isn't as tough as the Ole Miss game and I still think it's a better matchup. The key is going to be containing the big plays. Cobb, Locke and Hartline can't break the big plays against us. If we can contain them and make them move down the field methodically, they'll make mistakes. We should be able to move the ball offensively, we just can't commit stupid turnovers.

Win this and we're in the Music City Bowl (most likely). That'd be big for the staff and players.

Ohio State 45 Michigan 27

The season will probably end with a fizzle this weekend. Let's hope Michigan is at least competitive in the bowl game. This game against OSU is going to be painful.
