This team has lacked a legit WR for a decade plus. Take a chance on actually being good.

Who was the last one? I honestly can't remember.

Berrian was for a short time, though he never quite got to 1000yds. Booker was in the pro bowl in 2002 and had two 1000+yd season for the Bears.

Also don't remember Jeff Blake being a Bear

Ew...I do. That was during the stretch of some really awful QB's, wasn't it?

Oh right...that was the year Grossman got hurt, and Orton played most of the season.

I'm all for improving at WR, but not with Moss. All these reports coming out how they felt like they were playing 11-on-10 with Moss out there, about how he gave up on most plays that weren't designed to go for him, refusing to return home with the team and participate in watching video, etc.

I don't mind taking risks, but this isn't even a risk. It's asking for trouble.

I don't know how well this analogy works, but if you could take a pill that gives you a 15% chance of being significantly smarter, but the other 85% of the time it gives you cancer, would you take it?

If I was doomed to being a ditch digger the rest of my life, maybe.

Moss turned things around in New England. He was pissed off about being traded, but that whole thing has blown up now and there's at least a decent chance he's gotten it out of his system for the time being. I have no interest in the status quo of the Bears. If the risk is turmoil, so be it. The end result of the Minnesota situation is Childress may lose his job. Worst comes to worst, maybe he works that magic on Lovie. Odds are we're stuck with Lovie for the foreseeable future, so in the time being stop pretending the offense is fine by only investing in a QB, blocking tight ends and backup RBs. They have zero impact players on offense outside of Cutler and they need something. You can't ask a guy to make his wide receivers better while not blocking for him and having no running game.

Put me in the Pro-Moss group. Cutler needs a receiver that will actually go up and get a ball. I thought we had that with Aromashodu, but the guy doesn't even see the field anymore.

He didn't exactly go up and get the ball very often in Minnesota. He more like jogged half assedly towards the ball.

Urlacher was asked about Moss, who was abruptly dropped Monday by the Minnesota Vikings after apparently becoming a cancer in their locker room, during an appearance Tuesday on the "Dan Patrick Show'' on Comcast SportsNet.

"It wouldn't hurt my feelings, I'll tell you that much," Urlacher said of the possibility of Moss joining the Bears. "He's tough to defend, and I'm not too sad that the Vikings let him go because we play them in two weeks."

Marcus Robinson had that one insane year, too.

Todd Collins has retaken the Bears' No. 2 quarterback job, according to the team's official game release for Week 9.

ESPN Chicago's Jeff Dickerson suggests that coordinator Mike Martz is behind the move, as he's the one who pushed for the team to shell out money for a veteran backup. Martz must have a short memory to push Collins' Carolina performance out of his mind.

Hahahaha

I thought Moss was throwing up this flak because he simply wants to play in NE again.

I really doubt he would behave any better in Chicago than he did in Minny. He'd take one look at Lovie and wouldn't see anything better than Childress.

No to Moss.

Being able to go back to New England is going to be difficult. If I was Minnesota I'd file tampering charges if that occurred.

Funny, but ultimately, pretty unimportant. Hanie or Collins playing is bad.

Yeah, that's why this is pretty crazy. Surely Moss realizes there's more to it than just raising his voice about how much he loves NE. That's not going to result in him being sent back to NE.

.....just a tad more complicated than that.

I don't know if anyone is going to get anything out of Moss unless he's able to re-sign with the Patriots for a low price next year.

The situation in Minnesota was just about ideal in terms of getting max effort out of him. The fans still absolutely loved him and he still has a home there and likes the area and dome. The ownership/management that dealt him 5 years ago was gone. He had a QB he always wanted to play with. He knew he was playing for his next contract. Ownership/management wanted him and worked it into his contract that he wouldn't be franchised but promised they would negotiate a deal after the year. He had Adrian, Harvin and Shiancoe keeping the middle of the field wide open. He still had a couple of former teammates he liked.

I agree. I'm not sure what Moss was expecting, but it seems to me he just decided to act like a baby.

So Childress isn't in Belichek's league as a coach. So what? Do something about it on the field. Pick your team up with some great performances.

But didn't the whole thing start because New England wouldn't sign him to an extension?

So apparantly Chris Williams has read the scathing interview where Michael Lombardi called him a bust.

On a more personal note, some of you might find this interesting, speaking of bust, Stan Thomas was kicked out of my local gym for showing a woman a nude photo of himself. I used to see him every morning working out.

Yeah. But the Vikings and Moss reached a mutual agreement. They said they were interested in signing him long-term but couldn't do it right away. He said that was cool as long as they didn't franchise him. So they wrote that into his contract and everything was supposed to be good.
